Hello All!
Im really having trouble getting adjusted to the Wii Remote/Nunchuck combo. I want to use the Gamecube controller but always find myself telling my self "no". I guess its because since SSBB is on the Wii using the Gamecube controller feels wierd. I dont know if I am the only that feels this way but i sure hope im not. Ive gone online several times and won but also lost and I wonder if the person that just owned me was using the wii remote/nunchuck combo or the Gamecube controller. Im not saying that noone should use the Gamecube controller Im just sying that for me it feels a bit wierd using it while playing SSBB. What you all think?

Use the one you deem most comfortable.

Edit- I use the GameCube controller.

I use GC, Wiimote and Wiimote with Nunchuck.

I might buy a classic controller for it too.

I'm trying to figure out a good configuration for Wiichuck combo, my biggest problem is throwing items with Shield+A, but hesitant to change C to grab.

My guilty habit is using GC though, I admit it.

The Gamecube controller should have the widest scope of options available to you because of the C-stick. Although, I think the Classic Controller has a second control stick that can be used like the C-stick, but I've used it, and it's awkward as hell.

I'm using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combo, it's pretty effective. It takes some getting used to, but I modified the buttons so that they better suited me. (Having more than one move on the directional pad is a bad idea I find, it makes things too confusing. I'd make it your special or your grab, and the b button on the back your special or your grab.)

I am good with all four types, and usually play with either the Classic Controller, or the Nunchuck combo.

When I find that I need to buckle down and get serious against someone, though, I bust out the Gamecube Controller.

Seven years of muscle memory really helps the mind to think of techniques in a fight instead of controls.

As for the Wii Remote + Nunchuck combo, try setting your Z button to shield, your C button to grab, Down on the D-Pad to jump, and A to Attack and B to Special. You can leave the rest the same, including A+B to grab.

Just think of the Nunchuck as having a reversed Z button grab from the Gamecube controller.
I use both buttons with my index finger.

Try that out and let me know what you think.

I dont know if it helps or not, but I am thinking of using a wired GC controller and I just threw my wavebird through the wall and said **** it.

because the wavebird causes too much delay especially in Wifi, and you pushing combos and your char is doing **** summersaults and everything rather then what you pushed the buttons to do, especially if your in the habit of using C-Stick and quick (-)+A combos which tend to screw quite alot on the wavebird I had.

So I am thinking since Wireless Wifi is pretty horrible for the Wii, I am thinking maybe wireless GC controller is pretty bad for Brawl, I really dont know though. It seems most of the grief I went through in wifi is blamed on the controller, and the Wiimote + nunchuck, and the Classic are really worse. Classic Controller is just a halfass backwards SNES controller, boy is it backwards, and the Wiimote + nunchuck is just......... not made for brawl, that simple.

I had trouble with the wiimote/nunchuk combo too so I sticked with the classic controller. I've got two classics and 1 gamecube controller so I'll probably buy one more gamecube for when I move outfrom my parents place and they'll be plenty controllers for my friends and I.

why would you feel weird, use the gamecube controller if that is what is easiest for you. don't purposely use a controller that feels weird just because it doesn't match with the system, and i don't think other people are going to shun you for using the GC controller either.

I can't stand the Wiimote Nunchuck combo for brawl. But you should use whatever feels the most comfortable.
If you don't like GC controller, why don't you try the classic one?

I use the GC controller, but I haven't tried the other options yet, like someone above said; why mess with a good thing?

My roommate who has never played Melee though tried using the remote alone, then the remote + nunchuk, then the classic controller, and finally the GC controller. He was having trouble with the first 3, but once he picked up the GC controller he said it was "easy-mode compared to the other controllers".

First, I tried wiimote and nunchuck combo. It didn't really work for me because my sensor is screwed up. (My char. crouches for no reason at all and it was a bit laggy)

After that, I used the GC controller. I beat the whole SSE with it. Pretty nice! Then, my buttons got sticky. Oh no. My start button, jump buttons and most important my A button was sticky. It was annoying the crap out of me. How long would it be until the rest of the buttons were sticky! I looked for more GC's but was out of luck.

Finally, I thought about getting Classic. I went to the store and got a used one for 15.00, nice.
Tried it, pretty awkward. It felt like a gameboy or DS or something. Put after a couple of days it grew on me. I'm using it now. I'm thinking about using the wiimote by itself or the wiichuck combo again. Hope that helped. :)
