http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIH7Aw_oG-8 at the end he said not to connect to wiiconnect24 does he mean for the WADs with online features or brawl and stuff like that.

I need to know so i don't get my Wii bricked by nintendo

btw my wii menu version is 3.3U
I'm at the same version as you and I've got the Homebrew Channel happily up and running with no problems while completely connected to the internet as normal. I don't think anybody has actually had a bricked console from homebrew so far, Nintendo has merely tried to close the doors to homebrew in the first place. Actually, when they tried to nerf the Twilight Hack all of the homebrew that was already running on the console still worked in it's entirety.

Does anybody actually do those things? All kidding aside, I haven't tried those lately but the Homebrew Channel does connect to the internet every time it loads up so I doubt you're going to get a combination Blue Screen/Red Rings of Death if you do try anything.

After a little research, it seems that the only thing that's really been truly bricking consoles is modchips, so you're in the clear with just a little homebrew.

If you're really worried, the only thing I'd caution against is letting the Nintendo Channel track what you're playing. I'd turn that off just for safety's sake.

READ THE DISCLAIMER! In the VERY unlikely case your Wii should be bricked by the installer, this will let you know where you stand in regards to Team Twiizers.
what does this mean

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel
It means that it's extremely unlikely that using the Homebrew Channel will brick your Wii. As in, it hasn't happened that anybody knows of so long as you follow the instructions properly. Is it a remote possibility? Sure, but it's so unlikely as to almost not be one. SO LONG AS YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Team Twiizers simply has to cover their ***** in case it does. ;)

The Homebrew channel bricking your Wii is like an avalanche crushing your car. Could it happen? Yeah. Will it happen? Probably not.

Rude hand gesture

Middle finger cursorThis is not a bug, but the cursor in the HBC is showing the middle finger. Can you please not be so rude and fix this :( wackysystems

It will only show you the middle finger if you had the hacked preview-homebrew-channel installed. It's their little revenge on people who used a hacked version of their work. I guess you'll have to live with it. ;) - Slowking 03:55, 12 June 2008 (GMT+1)
Actually that's not truth but you're doing a real good job of spreading the rumour. It's just a random occurrence - Furkle 05:07, 12 June 2008 (CEST)
First, I didn't use the Hacked-Homebrew-Version. Second, the hand isn't a random occurrence, it is there everytime I use the Homebrew Channel. Is there any way I can get rid of it? Thank you. wackysystems
It's random based on your system variables. If you get it you're mostly stuck with it, though system updates and other major changes can change things enough for it to change status. It's not random on every boot. Marcan 22:06, 21 June 2008 (CEST)
it would have had to been put their on purpose considering it loads an image file for the cursor so someone would have had to also include an image of the middle finger, the wii just doesn't out of nowhere render a regular hand image as a hand with a middle finger so It would have had to be directed towards people with the hacked HBC, if you never used the hacked HBC then the bug is that the HBC though you had the hacked one. --DrMario 18:53, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

I wonder if you can use AnyTitle Deleter to get a normal Cursor. --Flark 19:17, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
it would be funny just to have this cursor to show off for jokes, maybe a pc version of the cursor too lol
