As You most likley know, people are bating there Ideas for 3rd-party fighters all across this board. Some are reasonable, others are just plain dumb (I saw someone on the Nintendo Smash bros forums wanting *yuck* NARUTO!). But here's the thing, not every game character has fought, while most, including snake, have.

Puzzled, read on. (this is long)

(Note this Is going to be a series so watch for it)

Example 1: Dreammix TV World Fighters-Konami Parts (Hudson in part 2)

As you can see this was a Japan-only fighting game in the vein of Smash Bros
It featured quite a few fighters from Konami, Hudson and Takara Tomy(Japanese Transformer, Beyblade, Barbie knock-off distributor.)

One of the unlockable fighters in this game was our very own "Showtimer" Solid Snake.

Now Smash Bros should be a game where people that are new to fighting, well fight.
(I.E most thought that Captain Falcon couln't do anything but race before smash bros.)

As that is, having a vetran fighter as a newcomer would feel weird wouldn't it?
Note though, that he is not the only one from Konami in this slugfest

Fan wanabees Simon Belmont: http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/softinfo/wfight/html/chara/simo.html

Twinbee: http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/softinfo/wfight/html/chara/twin.html

Heck,even Power Pro-kun http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/softinfo/wfight/html/chara/powe.html

that guy with the train: http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/softinfo/wfight/html/chara/momo.html

and a Eastern Island Head of all things(From fan favourite Gradius,) all want to battle

Now can you think of one more popular franchise from Konami that hasn't fought that is REALLY Popular in Japan and wouldn't be hell to make moves for?
No. Not DDR

Yep here he is: http://www.meristation.com/EPORTAL_IMGS/GENERAL/juegos/NintendoDS-Aventura/b2/IMG-cw43b1e177cfaf7/GoemonDS_Bpe.jpg

Now I don't think you can make up a fighter without going EXTREMLY Deep like they did:
http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/softinfo/wfight/html/chara/binb.html

But I feel that he (Goemon) would be a better representative than Snake as Not only would he NOT need some silly editing (No Non-Guns for you snake!) But he was Konami's first main franchise that wasn't a shooter. Plus he's one that people in Japan recognize the most because of popularity.(Goe had an anime, Snake didn't, More games etc...)

But you could get REALLY retro and want Frogger for brawl...:psycho::laugh:

That game is well-known here, and Snake has already been picked as a representative for Konami. Not because he's a representative for Konami at all mind you, but because Sakurai is friends with Hideo Kojima, Snake's creator.
