Well for one thing it seems like its going to be over millions of people online the day that this baby comes out, but here the main issue i worry about LAG. Lag destroyed DBZ: BT3 Online and i really don't want that to happen on here. Now i know that when you connect directly to a friend the lag will be minimal due to the direct connect but i see huge lag in our future unless there there's something Nintendo can do about it?

He (or they) already addressed there might be lag, but from what we know, it's not going to be much. He specifically said the further you are away from your opponent(s), the worse it's going to be.

But I wouldn't worry that much. I mean, how many times are you going to be playing someone from Japan?

This is kind of an oversimplification. Lag isn't just a matter of distance. Lag really represents how "close" you are in the network to the person you're playing against. If you have a different ISP from someone else, chances are you'll be "far away" from them even if you're close geographically.

I really worry for DSL and Cable users. I hope the lag isn't that bad, but I worry that it will be. Fortunately for me, I'm on a University campus, which is about the best situation one could hope for.

In the long run, I'm screwed, since I live in Asia with an imported American Wii. Mario Strikers Charged lags like heck when I play a random match with someone. Friend code battles seem to work normally, so I guess most of my matches will be with friends.

I hope it doesn't lag TOO much.

But hey, at least SSBB has the option TO PLAY online, so even if it's not as good as some other online games, at least it'll up the replay value a LOT.

This topic has been done to death. I'll see if I do an official lag FAQ response because I'm tired of rewriting my responses. It's not your fault. You can't really search for "wifi lag" on the forums because you can't find anything.

In Nights Journey of Dreams, I play people online in Japan with no lag at all.

Lag was minimal in Strikers. LAg was bad in DBZ because of crappy net coding.

Also, use search. You really think no one has worried about lag until now?
