Why to Have a Girl/Boy/Itfriend while teen ?

I taked this out of 'Most embarrasing thing you have done in the school' thread:

I have a question for those of you who have a Girl/boy/Itfriend, Why do yo take such stress ? Its just being distracted with some person, remembering Dates, Giving things, and having French Kisses outside of the school, because most of that teen love is just some superficial, lusty thing for some stupid, spoiled girl.

It is true that a girl can be Much more inteligent than a guy, but when you remember its for Lust, you just want to go with the most good looking(Good look=Always had attention from guys=Always got what she wanted=Spoiled Rich girl that visits MySpace daily).

Im not saying Beuty+Smartness=ERROR, but MOST teens do it for lust or vain, and if the girl is Smart, they dont go with a guy who wants to be with her just for the reasons I mentioned before.

But yeah, Generally Im relaxed, so I dont like worry from those things, and I have a childlish mind.

I've been dating the same girl since high school. In a small town, depending on the personality, it can be real. What we have is pretty real. If you just brush off that all relationships in high school are bad, you'll fail at life because some of the best times for experience comes from there.

On the same notion, any dating before at least one of the people can drive on their own is not dating and doesn't count.

so, once tried, you can say that certainly, it is nos something that really brings the joy of life to your mind. at least, when choosing the wrong partner.

but, what about those who haven't tried it?

I can tell you that racing tru' the city at night, about 180-200 KPH, is nice, but fearsome, so why would you want to try it? I can say that, because I already tested that, and found that the good things of doing it, were little to none, compared to the bad things.

so, little teens want to have a boyfriend-girlfriend-itfriend, mostly out of curiosity.

now that, if one of these teens already had one, and it failed, why would want to have another?
that's an eternally unanswered question. I guess we're just stupid.

I heard up that once they broke, Its really difficult to be friends again. Its stupid to try by yourself when you can see others being in a bad relationship.

You have bf/gf's in your teen years because it boosts your social status, and at the same time could be used as a nice cover-up, as well as give you some experience for later years. A lot of my friends have said high school dating is completely stupid, and in a lot of cases I agree, but there have been high school relationships that have had real substance to them and even some that last long beyond graduation.

As for me, well I'm 20 years old and have been out of high school since 2005, so I'm on a completely different scene now.. but keep in mind, there are some people that carry high school-esque drama with them beyond graduation.

That's adolescence for you. I had a girlfriend for a month back in high school, didn't work out, and hasn't since. We get along well enough; it's just that after breaking up, there's sort of an awkwardness between the two individuals, which eventually goes away, and is replaced by a feeling of mutual understanding.

And that's assuming adolescents aren't morons. So to answer your question, we do it because we can. That, and buttsecks.

I have had one girlfriend in my life, and it lasted about 8 months.
Why did I do it?

Life:
It’s life, and that’s the big one. When you become 15, you suddenly notice Jane next to you makes you giddy and nervous when talking to her, and you find yourself looking at her, trying to impress her, and trying to get to know her. A lot of people tend to have this kinda **** go on, and put the aim on “Getting together”. It’s a natural drive, and in your teens, your hormones go mental, and you’re suddenly hit with these new emotions. What do you expect people to do? Date like all hell. Obviously, some people abuse the whole idea far too much, and “love” about 783 people a year. But you know…they suck. XD

Curiosity:
Another reason is an overlap of my first point, but it’s also true.
Again, you’re suddenly hit with these incredibly strange emotions. Suddenly girls seem amazingly attractive somehow, and some make you particularly perked up and interested, and the whole “Dating” thing seems exciting and new. Think about it, you get to know this new person, the “Impress them and get them interested” game is great fun, and who doesn’t want to have a kiss? Your first kiss?

Fun:
Another quick point is a simple one; If done correctly, dating and checking people out can be great fun. You learn, and have fun at the same time! An odd satisfaction comes from being with the person you have a crush on, and just getting food together of mucking around is really very enjoyable.

All in all, it’s just the way things go.
Many of my friends have only had one or two relationships, had fun, learnt, and moved on. They don’t stress over it much, really. It just happens some times..

It’s just the way it goes man. You claim to have dated before, and you can’t say it was THAT bad. Try it with someone you really “like”. I’m sure it’ll prove neat enough.
Yes, this stupidly long rant came from someone who has had one date in his life, so I may be exceptionally wrong. Bu it’s what I know/think, so rawr!

I had a teacher in high school who used to say that having a significant other at this young an age is practicing for marriage when you're older. It doesn't matter as much if you screw up with the opposite sex when you're this young as if you did in your marriage. But if you can't get "lucky" now don't stress out, you have your whole life ahead of you.
