Why go for jab reset?

Hi all, been wondering recently why the prevailing line of thought is going for jab reset during dthrow tech chases. If you go for jab reset, there's a good chance you can knock them down again and go for regrab, but if the opponent is to SDI, then it gives them a mixup to get out of the tech chase. Why not just let no tech happen and wait for options to react to again?

I mean, I do jab resets on people who've proven they won't SDI, but verse better players jab reset seems so unoptimal

Yeah it's better to crouch by the opponent. Or power shield the get up attack.

Tbh If you're tech chasing someone and their above 30 or 40 you can u-mash -> U-air -> Fair and set up for an edgeguard.
