Back again, still talking about my Aib ladder experiences. I have too ask, why do the better people pay little or no attention to the not so go people. Like, in the current ladder it's only the better people talking to each other and playing each other. And when someone like me responds to someone good asking for a match, they deny it know that I need help and that they have the tools to try. Another example, I asks on the chat "does SDI work on a wiimote+nuchuk?" All I got was people just continuing their conversations and one guy putting up a question mark. This is obviously a good thing to know and if people took a little time out of their day this would be solved. I'm not mad at all good people for doing this and not saying everyone does this because I've had a few good people help me out, but if the good people helped the bad people there would be more good people. Also, I've never been to an offline tournament but please tell me the same doesn't happen here too.

This made me think of the topic.

I mean people like to generalize. Tell you right now, based on past experience or whatever, people think those who use the nunchuk+wiimote are horrible players, aka, not worth the time.
Might be the way you come across too.

Or just being elitist. Don't know, people are idiots.

If it's the official ladder, it's because of ranking points and how they work.

If it's for friendlies, I guess they just want something they perceive to be a challenge. It may be generalising but it does usually tell the truth.

Although not all are like that, HolyNightmare didn't know who the **** I was in like early 09 and he was still happy to give me a ladder match.

What's in it for yourself if you help other people, basically.

Helping people does plant seeds. Being a helpful and considerate person in the long run allows those seeds of goodwill to flourish, people will be wiling to help you through your bad times or at least you'll have a level of respect.

Of course, this is all in theory, but I mean, you do reap what you sow. If you're a **** to absolutely everyone it does eventually come back to bite you.

People who preach about good morals and pretend like they have them should look to actually apply them all the time.

It's not that some people don't like helping others, there's motivational factors (can't be bothered) and the whole cost/benefit of helping.

Helping to much tends to become a hassle when people walk all over you. Continually coming up to ask you to explain or do stuff and the word spreads til you get the stigma of the "explainer helper guy" and you end up not getting any work done. Tired and frustrated you end up telling everyone to "eff go away" and they're all like :(:glare::mad: /beginning of highschool

I don't know if you're joking or not, but this is a prime example on how people don't want to help others. The guy you're saying don't reply to could have just answered my question in an indirect way.
Man oh man, I really wish you were joking with that. The guy you're "defending" wrote such an obvious oxymoron that the only way he could've "answered your question" was by providing a wholly sarcastic rhetorical question.

If you really are that unaware, allow me to provide a quick reference.

having little or no concern for oneself

What does selflessness do for me?

The fact that you had to go and ask something like "What does that mean?" indicates that the humor went entirely over your head. That Jumpman actually decided to go and point out that it was a joke post is pretty nice of him, but your response is to attempt to make an example out of him? Smooth.

Where people get NOTHING.
Guile's head is on Chunli's body..what do you expect? xD

Brawl is already several years old now and if you're in the ladder with a low rank, no one probably is going to want to answer questions you're expected to already to know to even survive in said ladder.

That's just the way it is. Is your name AllShort on AIB too? Or better yet look up Super Sonic on AIB, I'm the only one of at least the only one without spaces or numbers.

rule of thumb: aib chats are ****ing stupid

the sooner you realize this and dont take it seriously, the better off you'll be. aib is full of the most anti-social, rude people you will ever come into contact with. i'm like the friendliest guy ever and i've never had so many people talk **** to me for absolutely no reason. lol i've been to a lot of offline tournaments and the people are not like this. people who go to tournaments are generally pretty cool and willing to help if you ask. they're the kinds of people who actually leave the house. :p i'd take any questions to the forum anyway. if you can't find what you're looking for through the search function, most sections have a Q&A thread.

so dont worry about it. wifi practice only helps to an extent anyway. once you get to a certain point i think it's better to just get offline practice. say i couldn't play with anyone offline for a week, and i decided to play online out of boredom, i always seem to get a little bit worse after that. though i think the one thing wifi can help with is matchup experience(but again i believe it's only to an extent). of course this is just my experience. you might find wifi helps you get better so form your own opinion. hell, there's a 12 yr who came out of nowhere and consistently gets top 3-4 at tournaments and all he did was play wifi apparently :p
