Why didn't they just reuse ATs for the "enemies" of Smash Run in Ultimate?

They already went through the effort in making a bunch of the ATs killable for points and there was already a bit of overlap between 4's ATs and Smash Run enemies. Heck, Ultimate might have been able to run multiple of the lower-poly, less intensive summons if the results of the now patched Isabelle AT glitch where there may have not been too much lag sometimes was any indication. Add in the Flying Man from Magicant, the Ditto Pokeball, Yellow Devil, Metal Face, Dark Emperor, Cuckoo, etc. and sprinkle in the bosses as challenges and you're golden!

They could have easily killed two birds with one stone like they did with Spirits, just lower the attack power/"health" of the ATs so they're more in line with Smash Run enemies!

Maybe it was either, thematically inappropriate to have most of the "mob" enemies be singular character entities except for like, only 10-ish that could pass off as being a swarm of enemies (Burrowing Snagret, Chain Chomp, Hammer Bro, Klaptrap, Metroid when frozen, Starman, Sukapon/Bomberman/Black Knight/Rathalos? and maybe throw in an unbeatable one or two in there as well EDIT: Also maybe Starfy would count I guess?), still a LOT of work in the other areas of a large as heck map with secret areas, events, power-ups and end challenges when they were already preoccupied with all of Ultimate's other stuff that they weren't even able to finish before release as seen with post-launch HRC and Stage Builder, they still may need enemies like a Goomba to which at that point, why not just continue developing new enemies (which they specifically said they couldn't anyway as resources were with the stages and stuff I think? Same with Adventure levels, too) or ATs simply not being the same as those enemies attack pattern-wise (their whole point being actively destructive against you, rather than partially still/inactive/waiting), with them needing tweaks like 4's Chain Chomp, Metroid and Lakitu did in Smash 4, to which again, at that point you might as well just be developing enemies in general, or crippling ATs by forcing them into this new multi-purpose design.

What do you all think, though?
