Why did my thread get closed?

I'm sorry for bringing up a discussion about it, but I am absolutely puzzled about one of my threads getting closed, and at least I want to know the reason.


The thread that was closed is Smash Flash 2, which I'm not gonna link due to obvious crosspost infraction (even worse to a closed thread). Anyway, you can find it scrolling down the page.

I've been reading the forum rules over and over and I can find no single rule that applies to my particular case. The closest one is the "No Blatant Advertising" rule. Which I'll quote:

If you have your own website, you can give it a quick mention in a legitimate post, but if you make a post specifically for advertising your site, it will be edited and you will receive a penalty

Okay, Smash Flash 2 is not my property (I wish it were) it's just a FREE product I came across and thought it would be fun to show and share, what's so wrong with that? There's no difference between that and showing a youtube video.

Why did my thread get closed then?


If there is any moderator who can answer my question, I'll be pleased to know why. If you want, close this post, but not without dropping and answer first.

I'm not suggesting a reopening.

I just wanna know which rule I violated, in order not to incur in the same "illegal" activity again.

But it's not a "youtube video", the youtube video in my post was only to show a preview, the post is about a game, and it's got a link to the website.

Please read my stuff and check your facts before commenting.

It isn't supposed to make any sense. It's an archer from a Dexter's Laboraty chapter in which Dexter plays a roleplaying game with his friends.

A. If there was a thread about it, that's why.
B. The topic just linked people to the game with no real input - we frown upon links to websites with nothing more added to the topic.
C. Games go in the Lighthouse, though it may have been closed there too.
D. In the future, use PMs to forum leaders or the Forum Disputes to solve these problems.

E. If you don't have anything useful to add (Looking at the pink-named people) don't reply. It wasn't an 'omfg y u close it u suk' which it might be excusable, but was an intelligent post.

And pretty sure I've seen a Smash Flash thread in the Brawl room.
