Link. Zelda is my favorite game series, so I'm more familiar with Link that most other characters. Also, I've really liked his play style since the original Smash Bros. For some reason, I liked Toon Link better in Brawl, but now in Smash 4, I like Link again. He just felt really weak in Brawl. I don't like the gale boomerang, but luckily I can just use the normal boomerang with a custom move.

I main Palutena because she is my Nintendo waifu. Also, I love Kid Icarus Uprising. Her moveset flows nicely for me and is very fun to use. She even has diverse custom move options since they are all different.

I main Marth because I mained him in the past few games, and as much as I like Robin, Marth handles aggressive play better.

Ness though robin is a very close second.

WFT feels a lot like Samus but better, so I switched over.

I main Iggy.

In all the previous Smash games, I always co-mained Yoshi and Captain Falcon (with Yoshi being my best character, and Falcon being very fun and stylish), but I instantly dropped Yoshi in Smash 4 because of how easy and safe they made him. It's weird but I really like playing a low tier character like Yoshi in Melee (my favorite and most-played Smash) and being able to play him well. It helps that he's my favorite video game character.

I picked up Iggy to replace Yoshi in Smash 4 because Iggy is my favorite Koopaling, and his playstyle/moveset is really fun for my tastes. I can go deep for style and still have a lot of fun, and I can do a lot of mixup and fly all over the stage and whatnot.

(I voted Iggy in the poll because even though I co-main him with Captain Falcon, I tend to play Iggy more.)

I dual main Shulk and Sonic, with Marth and Duck Hunt coming up fast to be another two of my mains.

Also, she's got a great offense/defense playstyle, nice combos and a really unique moveset. Much better than she ever could be in Brawl, IMO.

I main Bowser Jr./Koopalings because they have a really fun and diversified moveset that really caught my interest.
As for the Koopaling I use, I use Iggy, Lemmy, Ludwig and Larry, though for the most part Larry.

Olimar. The character that make me forget about melee and play Brawl all day. And the reason I keep playing Smash games all the time and love for the competitive play for smash bros. Olimar was my inspiration. I remember when they add him, I was sooo blow away.

My other Mains are: Duck Hunt and R.O.B.

I main Ness, though I'm not sure how he's one of the most popular choices as I voted. Oh well, I guess that's pretty cool to see.

I've mained Ness since 64, and I haven't gone back. I picked up Pikachu and Kirby in Melee as well as Ike in Brawl, though, and I want to integrate Robin and Villager (and maybe Mii Swordfighter) into my team. Personally, I play as characters if I just like them rather than how their gameplay is (but I learn how they play eventually, of course), and there are apparently a lot of them for me this time around.

I main R.O.B. because it's really fun to control the stage and create endless pressure on my opponent with the Gyro and the laser, especially against characters like Captain Falcon, Little Mac, and Lucina who have no ranged options and are thusly forced to face the Gyro head-on.

loved yoshi ever since brawl came out. i think a lot of it is cause he has really weird double jump stuff going on + you can use his upb multiple times, it doesn't put you in a helpless state, it gives yoshi tiny kirby jumps alongside his regular jumps, and you also throw an egg

generally i like characters with weird jumps, but not ness for some reason, like i feel like a wet piece of paper when i use him. i'm hoping mewtwo's jump is really weird, like it was back in melee
