Who's going to be your new main if your old main isnt in Brawl?

[Please let Ness be in Brawl]

You see, in 64 and Melee I mained with Ness. But now that Ness isnt in brawl, I think Im gonna be Lucas now, just because the moveset will be somewhat the same. But for some others, they wont be as lucky as me.

So, if your old main from melee/64 wont be in Brawl, who are you gonna play as?

I would say that I would main Meta Knight, but I think Marth will still be in.

Mario's still in, Falcon is likely still in, Ganondorf HAS to be in, DK's still in, Bowser's still in, Fox is still in, I'm all set myself... except MAYBE Falco, but that isn't much of a loss at all.

I would say that I would main Meta Knight, but I think Marth will still be in.

It's looking like Diddy will play somewhat similarly to Fox (from what game play I've seen) so I'll try him and if not maybe Fox, I mean why not.

the characters i first started out as in 64 were picked solely because i liked the character, not he moveset. since the gameplay was different in melee, i changed my main to another character that i think i preferred. So who knows if it will still be the same in brawl. i think i would want to play with them all for a while before making any decisions. since melee has come out, i have changed my main about 5 times.

Well I've always been a Star Fox fan so Fox was my main in SSB64. Then when Melee came around, my favorite character Falco was in so I mained him. So if Falco doesn't return, I'm going back to Fox XD

We can't really say who we will main yet (or at least we shouldn't), because we haven't played the game ourselves.
While the demo impressions and videos we've seen are very helpful, they don't equate to actually playing the game in its finished form. The final product could very well be different from those.
Your old main may feel very different or you might like a new character a lot more.
Let's just wait and see before we make determinations like these.

I started with Link and since my best friend played Link I needed to find somebody else to compete with him. I took up Sheik and moved to Marth. Right now, if Marth isn't in, I'll go Sheik. I'm used to disjointed though so I might really try Ike, MetaKnight or Link again.
My gameplay is mostly game engine knowledge abuse (priority, range, physics, spacing and attack speed respective to opponent's position (like a dAir will hit before a fAir with Marth and a dSmash will come out faster than a fSmash with Marth). I'd have to really learn a character before I can excel. My skills aren't finger speed. I can't drillshine, waveshine drillshine too well.

I'm a Sheik player right now.

If for some reason she doesn't make the cut (I think she will), I'm probably going to main either Meta or Snake.

Who knows though.

There are a lot of characters who I like a lot (DK), but don't really enjoy playing in Smash (see DK).

Who knows, I'll probably figure out who I want to main within a week of actually playing the game.

I think everybody with any reasonable chance of being cut has a "replacement" lined up, either a clone or a spiritual successor. With the possible exception of Marth -> Ike.

If Mewtwo isn't in the game I'll consider looking at Diddy, King Dedede, or Sonic. I'll probably love those anyway.

Well I'm one of the poor unfortunates who main Ganondorf. He's basically guaranteed to return, but equally guaranteed to be absolutely different from his Melee incarnation. I don't know if I'll keep maining him or not... I'm looking at Ike, Dedede or Meta Knight for alternatives at this point.

If my main Luigi doesn't make it in, I'm pretty sure I'll be maining Lucas, since my interest for him has been increasing constantly since the very first update with him... thier names both begin with L so maybe it's just destiny. ..

It's kinda hard to say. My Melee mains were Mewtwo and Dr. Mario, which one is almost 100% Cut, while the other is rather up in the air.

It really depends...I'll end up using a character I enjoy and whether I can get the playstyle to work. Likely one of the Kirby Characters, Bowser, Snake, Ridley (If present) or Wario.

I mained Captain Falcon and Ganondorf in Melee, while I think it's a given that they'll both be in, in the far out case they're not, I think Pit, PT and Metaknight are in the top running for my main.
