if a samus and a link of equally high level fight, who has the advantage?

Both have projectile spam, Link has more priority, Samus is faster. Link's recovery sucks so Samus actually doesn't have a hard time killing. I would say Samus is better. Her spam is much more consistent than Link's. The only thing annoying about Link is his jabs. Just outspace or ledge camp.

To ensure safety from his jabs, sheild the first two hits, then side step. This also works against Ike and some other slow 3 hit jabs. You should be able to pull off a dtilt, screw attack, jab, ftilt, or maybe even dash attack afterwards.

Samus' upair> link's Dair. Something else that you can do to Link is air dodge his bomb and grab it, cancel to zair then throw the bomb.

So, use u-air instead of Screw Attack? Link's d-air beats Samus' Screw Attack.

@Dryn: Samus will override link's dair using uair fairly consistently. Probably because you'll reach his hurtbox first and cancel the dair.

if they are equally skilled in the matchup... Link should win.

Stronger, more kill moves, out prioritizes (ground/projectiles), longer reach.

I don't know about the shield 2 hits side step the last one on the jabs. Alot of links cancel the third hit and charge a Fsmash expecting that (I fit in that category and I don't read well at all, just a good number of people try and do that)...But yeah gimping recovery makes it easily in samus' favor IMHO.

it will be whoever trips at 120% first that loses
truth, this happened to me the other day.

interesting question though, I'm usually the Link that's beating a Samus. I play against my friend who mains Samus, and I main both Link and Samus. I'd really have to think about it...

I wonder if Samus' Screw Attack would cancel out Link's d-air if Link hit the initial attack from the Screw Attack. You know, the part where it knocks your opponent into the air? I've clashed against some peoples attacks by doing this. Yesterday, Marth and I used our Up+B and canceled each other out.

I'm almost 100% sure d-air beats even the initial frames of the screw attack, because I used it against this one Link pretty much exactly when I got d-aired, and I got beat multiple times in a row. It's absurd.

Except Link or Ike can shield grab you after the 1st or 2nd hit.
