Just saying- you have to do a system transfer if you want to transfer over that ambassador status.
Thanks, someone else told me the same. Problem is, I bought the limited edition Mario & Luigi 3DS XL with M&L: Dream Team preinstalled. If I do a system transfer, how do I keep that game?

I only have a 2DS and I'm a bit concerned about how Smash will play on it.
I'm sure it will work fine, the difference between 3DS and 2DS is 1DS the L-R buttons are a little higher. The 2DS also doesn't have a Circle Pad Pro as an option.

That's actually something that is interesting. Would people with an XL have an advantage over people with a regular 3DS because of the screen length? I haven't thought of that...

Yea, I was in the exact same situation. Once you do the transfer, go to the eshop and go to previous downloads (don't remember the exact name) and it should be there. If it isn't, you can call Nintendo support and wig little information (NNID username, the serial numbers for both consoles) they can fix it for you. I didn't have is problem, it worked fine for me.

No. The pixel count is the exact same between the two consoles. The XL version simply has larger pixels. Think of it like hooking up your Wii U to a 32" TV, or a 42" TV. It's still the same image.

Also, thank you very much @ Crome Crome for the help.

The shape of the 2ds and the tiny size just doesn't feel comfortable for my hands. :p
The shape is half the reason it was even made. You should probably sell it and go for the first one or xl

2DS unless they release a special 3DS with a smash decal on it.
(I hope I wont be needing a circle pad pro)

My XL. I would say the 2DS would be perfect. But no, screw you Nintendo. I'm buying the 3DS and Wii U version of the game. I am NOT falling for buying 2 duplicate systems too.

I did a quick search for this topic since I didn't see it on the front page, and the first one I found hadn't been posted in since October of 2013. Rather than necrobumping that one, I figured I'd make a new poll.

What are you planning on playing Smash (4) 3DS with when it comes out?

Personally, after playing on a 3DS XL for the Best Buy demo, I finally felt the need to upgrade from my ambassador model My XL should be here by the end of the week. And I'm stoked.

So, guys. Which system will you main?
Dude.
Give.
That.
To.
Me.

XL for me! I upgraded last year and I haven't regretted it. Sometimes when I take it out I accidentally wear my jeans with smaller pockets and it's not comfy though.

First world problems. :awesome:

I'm quite content with playing Smash on my current 3DS, plus it'll be my overall 2nd game (originally got it for the new Pokémon games, but when I found out you need Wi-Fi and $5 to transfer Pokémon from B/W, B2/W2, it turned me off a bit), Smash I'm quite pumped for and looking forward to smashing people with my beloved mains from the previous games.

I have my Pikachu 3DS XL but I'm concerned about the stick lately, it feels stiffer than usual.
I definitely feel like the 2DS is the best for playing, much more sturdier and the triggers are big and comfortable, but I use the 3D effect and enjoy the big screen, but if a new smash 3ds xl comes out I will be getting that.

XL for sure. If not forhe bigger screen, for the fact that the shoulder buttons on the XL don't jam as easy.

Normal 3DS for now, but if the game turns out so awesome that just buying the Wii U version isn't enough and I need to have the biggest screen possible everywhere I go, then I could wind up getting an XL.

Original 3DS.
1. Because I already own it.
2. Because it fits right in my pocket! :4pacman:

3DS XL for sure. I can't get over how pretty my Legend of Zelda limited edition 3DS looks. I like the regular 3DS graphics, my friends have it, more crisp, but if I had to choose, I'd go with a 3DS XL.

I've got an aqua blue 3DS, but I'm planning to upgrade to an XL. I'm just waiting for a possible Smash Bros 3DS XL bundle/limited edition before I do that, though.

Have to go with my original model for now, but if it's really that hard to see (which I don't see as being the case) I'll probably upgrade to an XL. Especially if there's a limited edition one that comes out.

But I've watched pretty much all the 3DS footage there is on YouTube through my DS and it seems like visibility shouldn't be an issue.

Original 3DS, i've contemplated buying a XL but I can't really justify it, unless Smash feels REALLY uncomfortable on the regular version, but I doubt it.

The 3DS XL for me, but that's because I already have one. I played the 3DS version at Best Buy Smashfest too, it actually felt very comfortable for me.

I am going with the ever so cost efficient 2DS; however, if I decide to waste money on the Japanese version to experience the roster myself, I might be representing the OG 3DS.
