SSB:M, the true party game. the problem I had was I held Huge (30-60 people) video game tournaments, and had a diffrent concel one each TV. but there was a line for SSB. But in Melee ALL the people can compeat in a huge tournament! fun... or DK64. that was fun too. or Pokemon stadium, everyone could level up their guys during the week, then battle on friday.

SSB (SSB:M hasn't been released in Europe en importing is to expencive) and Perfect Dark.

SSB because it never gets boring and PD because 2 vs 2 capture the flag with one-shot-kills never gets old.

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Possibly the most hours I've ever gotten out of a game. And you can play it online with thousands of people as much as you want for free. There is just so much to do... After about a year and a half it got old though but that is great for any game. Now I'm looking forward to WarCraft 3.

But, I do have my GameCube for some other games on the side too. And for parties, (SSBM is the ultimate party game as mentioned above).

Smash bros 64 was probably the best multi game, but I can never forget the days when mario kart 64 provided me and my associates with multiple hours of fun gameplay!
Goldeneye was okay, but I hate the fps in 4 player....
PD just sucked.
Turok Rage Wars wasnt that bad, not that good either....
Conkers Bad Fur Day is good for a few laughs
But None of these can contend with melee!

most PC games are not party games. find one that you can have fun with in a group of people, then I'll change my mind.

Lots of PC games CAN be party games. It's called a LAN party. (Local Area Network). Well, this requires that everyone has their own computer working on the network. Now, its a huge pain in the arse to get that all set up. Me and a friend tried it with 2 computers but had trouble with battle.net when both of us tried to enter the same game... And it still lacks that console feeling, all watching the same screen and stuff.

You can go to LAN party places to play though where they got it all set up but that costs $$$.

Just to point out that when your playing online, YOU ARE PLAYING WITH A GROUP OF OTHER PEOPLE! Not to mention most of the time while playing Day of defeat I'm blasting Nazis and planing stratagy with others at the smae time. As soon as Voice com gets put in the game is going to rock!

1st: SSBM (and SSB)
2nd: tie between Goldeneye and Mario Kart 64
3rd: Mario Party (1 or 2, never 3)
4th: tie between Star Fox 64 and Rampage World Tour

One good thing about the N64 was the amount of quality mulit-player games, that's for sure!

SSB (probably Melee, haven't played it yet), Goldeneye 007, the Mario Party series, and Mario Kart.

Melee will be the ultimate, I have yet to play it. :(

sorry, but it just doesn't feel right to use emocon to talk when playing a game.

I like SSB:M because it has Mr. Saturn!

HT, I can honestly say ... that I don't like you.

Must I point at my friggin' signature again. Dammit! People like you ...

But before I go on about that, I should probably start by saying that I admit that there are -many- games I haven't played. Regardless, I have no intention of mentioning Super Smash Brothers Melee amongst the best of the multiplayers. (*pshht*)

I do, however, include the Diablo games, Starcraft, Unreal Tournament, Mario Kart 64, Twisted Metal, Smash Brothers (****, I lied ...), and the games mentioned in the link in my sig.

Okay, that's my two cents worth ...

And Goldeneye to me is great when you have 3 or 4 people playing at once.

Yes Nintendo has more good Multiplayer games then any other consol out there but the PC is still the King of Multiplayer. Show me a system where you can play aginast 64 real PEOPLE at the same time like you can in Tribes 2 and you can talk to them over your microphone to pull off compex monuvers!

Yea, PC owns multiplayer. Unless you're having a party, heh.

You can't patch a console game, and I haven't seen any console demonstrate great online play like the PC.

I am not really into the pc games thats why i didnt buy an X box. I thought X box would have that pc experience type of gameplay. HEy but u are right some games on pc are awesome. I havent played that game tribe 2 but how you describe it sounds awesome i better check it out. THe only problem is though what about when your friends come over? can they all play at once one monitor? unless you have about 4 computers that would be cool. Well i like everybody's opinions keep posting

Let me give my opinion here. There are three great games for parties, and then there are two even better game series for parties. I'll begin with the games: Goldeneye. Everyone loves the shoot 'em up types of games, and 007 is no exception. With the wide variety of weapons and levels, you won't get tired of playing. Unless you really suck and get the "Most Harmless" award 19 times out of 20. (Believe me, it's happened to a friend.) Perfect Dark also goes along in this category, so I won't explain this one much. Different levels and more diverse weaponry allow for a variation on a beloved party game. Thirdly, there's StarFox 64. I don't think I know anyone who doesn't love this game. Not many levels, and only three possible types of "vehicles" (if you want to call walking a vehicle...) to choose from, but the general aspect of large modes of transportation being blown up by weapons of mass destruction keeps me and many others enthralled.

Now, I mentioned that there were two series of games that have been used in several parties of my own and my friends as well, and if I know true video game fans, they love these as well. The first series is the Smash Bros. series. Although only having released 2 games, you get to beat the living daylights out of your opponents. I think it's pretty plain and simple. The wide variety of characters and their unique attacks and abilities, along with the item arsenal, has caught the attention of the entire gaming world. The second, my personal favorite, and what I consider to be the ULTIMATE PARTY GAME series, is the Bomberman saga. Dating all the way back to the original "Bomberman" for the NES, the small, mute, humble little man we know as Bomberman has captivated the hearts of millions with his giant explosions. As the series progressed into the SNES, the four-player adapter made the game available to 4 combatants at one time. Even if you wanted to play Vs. Mode but had no opponents, the computer would fill in for them. The best Bomberman for that system would be "Super Bomberman 2." A new leap came with the release of "Bomberman 64" for Nintendo 64. The same basic concept put into a 3D virtual world allowed our beloved demolitions specialist to gain new abilities, and even make new friends as well as enemies. (However, most good series have a flop; for this one it was the detestable "Bomberman Hero." Even multiplayer mode was removed! You can't do this to a successful party game.) Even the PS and GBC were able to experience the joy of explosives. Also, a game was made for the PC, complete with internet play ("Atomic Bomberman"). This is why I feel that Bomberman was, is, and always will be the original and ULTIMATE party game. If you haven't played this game yet, you desparately need to. Even the Adventure mode is fun.

*My personal pick for the best Bomberman game is "Bomberman 64."

YEah i have played bomberman64 is really cool in multiplayer. The one player mode i didn't like it that much but it was ok. I beat it fast though it wasn't that long. Hey but u are right this game is fun. The bomberman hero now that game sucked! it was far to easy with horrible graphics and no multiplayer just different all the way! So i rather play just bomberman 64.
