Where to talk about balance change proposals?

Hi, guys. I've been a lurker on these forums ever since Smash 4 came out, and I just made an account. So help me out here.

I want to know what the appropriate section is for talking about how players would or could change the balance of the competitive metagame in Smash 4. It's probably just in the Competitive discussions, but it's also not talking about the competitive metagame directly, so...

Yeah, I'm confused. Help is appreciated

Some character boards have areas, and sometimes a "what you want to see in the balance patch" thread pops up and is allowed to grow. The main thing is to keep such discussion from being a matter of ranting, and make it more about analyzing character strengths and weaknesses and coming up with ideas to improve them in the current metagame.

Also, hi Visage. Enjoy TI5?

Thanks

Sadly, I haven't been looking at TI5. Too hyped about Overwatch and too busy playing Splatoon. :p
However, Visage FTW. ;)

Thing is that it's pretty much a moot point because the balancing isn't going to fix the main problems a character has since the main focus of the game is FFAs. Samus will always be a clunky tin can, and Shiek will always be a top-tier threat because they're balanced for FFA.

Someone told me that Fox's jab lock being nerfed was a good thing for Fox mains... Don't understand why or how, but that's what they thought.

I suppose, but Sakurai basically told us so.

And look at what the patches have done... Diddy is still great, especially after last patch's buffs. Robin still has crippling movement problems, combos or no combos. Then we get random WTF buffs like Fox's blaster and Pit's arrows on high tier characters for no real reason. (Fox's jab wasn't even nerfed, just redesigned. Pit wasn't nerfed ever.)

It'll be interesting to see how it affects Fox. I've always thought that Fox had enough kill setups. Having jab as another one (IMO) probably isn't going to matter as much as how powerful jab was starting at even 0%.
