After Evo ive been really interested in melee. So i decided to pickup the game.

Ive bought everything i need BUT the dang Super Smash melee Game.

Does anyone know where i can get one thats relatively cheap?

Craigslist would be a miracle since i live in hawaii. I'm willing to spend up to 35$ on the disc.

On loads of sites that ive been on, the cheapest price for a melee game is like 50$-200$

The answer to every "where do I pick X up" question, and particularly "where do I get the best price on X," whether it refers to games, controllers, systems, or infinite things not related to this game we love is, has been, and will always be:

www.ebay.com

That said, if you're looking to buy a new disc I'm pretty sure those are the best rates that exist. A quick scan of completed listings shows the lowest a new one went for recently was $70, most were higher. Used you're looking at $20-40ish plus shipping (again, just a very quick scan of prices - you might find better with a little more effort).

Either way though, ebay is pretty much the best place to buy most anything.

Theres a Gamestop in Maui that has like a million gc games, not sure if they have melee though.

Glad my Disk has lasted since 2002. I've bought a couple copies to spread around friends though. Melee disks are about as hard to find in gamestops as official gamecube controllers. Ebay, amazon, or just the local smash scene are probably the best places to look. Does Hawaii have a large Melee following? I know there are a few big brawl crews there.

I feel the same way. I can't remember what year I got melee but I'm glad I got it while it was still a relatively new game.

My melee actually broke for a while, wouldn't read at all. I popped it in about 6months ago (when I picked up melee competitively) and it miraculously worked. It seems mango was smiling upon me from atop his golden EVO throne that morning.

My friend was not as lucky. But he was able to buy a disc cheap off a brawl player. Maybe see if the brawl scene there has anyone willing to part with an old melee disc. (Can probably get it cheaper from a brawl player than most online sources, plus you can test it if they're close)

What island are you on? I played against a few people when I visited Maui over winter break.

I've been told most players are on the "Big Island" though

What's up with the price on Melee? Has it been this pricey? I've always figured it was ~$20 or so, especially with the Player's Choice branding. Of course, it is a really old game now, but I don't even think N64 SSB is nearly as expensive.

Never mind. Just checked. SSB64 is also pretty expensive. Goddamn. lol
