Where are you going to pre-order?

So I was at Target buying MK8 on friday and I saw that they already had reservation cards available for smash on Wii U. I almost got one since the store opens at 8am, which wouldn't be bad for release day. But I decided against it because I instead want to get it at a midnight release somewhere. So my question to you cats is where do you think midnight releases will happen for it? Gamestop? Anywhere else?

Haven't ordered mine yet. I might be going to order one from Best Buy to receive Limited Edition collectible if I was lucky enough.

I pre-ordered at GameStop, but BestBuy is giving out a...gold coin or...something....
So I may pre-order the other game there, for that gold coin something.

Amazon, or Best Buy. Walmart if I'm feeling good.

I always pre-order from Gamestop. I suppose it is just more convenient, if there were incentives at another store, I might reconsider.

I like giving my business to Wal-Mart or a local chain called Play n' Trade. If Wal-Mart is offering a special deal that'll decide it for me, otherwise I'll probably get it at Play n' Trade, since I'm guaranteed to get a copy that way. They have some excellent customer service, and are more than fair on trade-ins. They also have WAAAAAAAY more retro games than Gamestop... every system, all the accessories, they even repair consoles. These guys are great.

Is gamestop the only place that really takes pre-orders and will likely have a midnight release?

As far as pre-order bonuses are concerned, I'm fairly sure a large number of retailers will offer them. However, gamestop may be the only place they will do a midnight release, unless you live near a 24 hour Walmart.
Ah okay, then probably gamestop will be where I pre-order. I'm not too concerned with bonuses, I just wanna get it at midnight the day it comes out

I'll be going with Gamestop and hope it gets a midnight release. I was originally going to do Best Buy for the coin, but I'll have moved before the game comes out, so I wouldn't end up getting the coin.

I don't want to preorder from gamestop, but it's the most local non-walmart store that sells games, so I guess that's what I'm gonna have to go with. If they have a midnight release though, I guess it'll be fine-ish.

Only way I'll pre-order a game is if Amazon is offering same-day shipping, there's really no reason to otherwise.

I never preordered a game before, is there any real advantage but the risk to be out of stock?
Not necessarily; sometimes there are pre-order incentives which might be exclusive content. However, I do not believe that Smash 4 is going to implement anything to that effect. I suppose it saves you a minute in the store, but that is not a "real" advantage, per se.

Not going to preorder.

Gonna get the midnight launch on the eShop. I've got a 32GB SD card that is just dying to be filled up.

I'll probably preorder the Wii U version at Best Buy for the coin thing. I'm not gonna preorder the 3DS one cause I'm gonna download it.

Wal-Mart. They're the only place that sells games within a 200 mile radius, so i'm kind of stuck.

Quite possibly Amazon. I'm going to avoid Gamestop if I can help it. Still, I may just go with whatever's fastest.

nowhere because preorders are dumb

seriously at least wait until you have a chance to try the game before deciding to lay down money for it.

I don't pre-order, so I'll probably just march down to EB Games at 09:45 like usual, since they don't do midnight releases there (at least not the one near me).

Apparently my father ordered both games online at Best Buy, even though I wanted to go to a midnight release and buy both of them myself. UUUGH.

First world problems.

I normally wait til close towards the release date before pre-ordering something.

Not just to keep money in check, but also to see if any online stores or local retailers offer any neat pre-order bonuses. :p
