if you di and tech away can marth reach you before you can act?

i mean if you tech behind marth you will get fsmash..teching in place usually gets you regrabbed..not teching means fmash on you...so that leaves teching away..is there any special way i should di? granted at higher damage it's not a problem so i should try not to get grabbed...

though for the most part i'm trying to help my friend vs my marth i play sheik vs his marth but he doesn't use grabs as much as me and i don't really have a problem

Uh, just don't get grabbed by Marth. Sheik is the one who should be doing the grabbing.

DThrow to FSmash is rather slow and can be punished if you don't tech the way he expects. If he's trying to regrab, just spot-dodge or something.

it's pretty tough to not ever get grabbed by marth. it happens, especially to one of the longest grabs in the game.

At certain percents, Marth's dthrow leads into fsmash before sheik gets a chance to hit the ground and tech. (Ankoku, you should know better, since i do it to you all the time ) I'm not completely certain about the percentage for that but if it looks like it sets up for the fsmash then DI away and down and try to get away from it. At higher percents i'm pretty sure you can just jump before marth can do anything. At low percents, you hit the ground before marth can do anything, and teching makes the marth have to try tech chasing assuming there's enough room to roll. If the marth is good at tech chasing, this is where it just gets tricky and the sheik has to really mix up the getups. I'm sure this would be a lot more useful if I was better with percents, but I usually just go by judging by what happens during the game.

If the marth is actively looking to regrab, mix up the techs. If the marth is looking for a free fsmash, teching away is probably the best option.
