You're absolutely right. How dare he not think that the Internet is super-serious business at all times!111!!!11uno After all, it's not like we're at some video game forum, right?

Maybe his post was a joke, but this thread is a thread that you can post problems in where maybe you could get some help from someone else. I don't really think anyone can really help him with his splinter and I don't think he needs help with it. On the otherhand there might be someone out there with depression who could help Kevin.

I see your problem is that your a total *******. I never said this was "super-serious" business at all times. It was a joke and not meant to be mean in anyway, I was simply pointing out that maybe his splinter (which he didn't seem too mad about) was not a big problem compared to manic depression. Maybe it was a little mean, but I'm sure his feelings weren't hurt, and if they were, I apologize.

But that's the problem. How can we really give advice to a stranger we'll most likely never meet? We don't know his circumstances, or if he wants to be helped. Besides, I always thought one of the reasons why the Internet is so addicting is that we can always escape our problems and become immersed in something we all enjoy. Threads like this only lead on guilt trips, and often fake problems from other posters trying to outdo each other on how horrible their lives are.

I can bet that at least a few of the people here faked their problems, and for those like KevinM, who has posted his problems in at least two threads, is seeking desperate attention and sympathy. However, we're not armchair psychiatrists, and I don't know whether his problems are real or if he's just trying to be an attention *****. Here's an idea: Instead of whining about our problems on the Internet, why don't we just ask our parents or relatives and friends for advice? I'm sure that they would know how to help you, and if not, a good psychiatrist is always there to help you.

Idiots.

Or people that refus to listen to anything that requiers even a shred of intelligence to comprehend.

Often I try to inform my friends of things that they don't know,or if they ask a question and I attempt to answer it,they just refuse to listen.

What's wrong with sharring knowledge?

Normally, there's nothing wrong with sharing knowledge. However, you shouldn't be sharing your own PERSONAL knowledge. Topics meant to inform us of new things are fine, but please try not to drag emotional baggage into it. By posting your problems on a message board, it just makes further conversation awkward and intimidating having to follow up such a story.

I know plenty of people with severe problems, and they do keep those to themselves, because they don't want to be treated as a charity case. Most people want to be as normal as they can possibly be, and if not in real life, a message board is a perfect place to start up a new identity.

All I'm trying to say is, try to spare us the life story. We didn't come here to feel guilty about you, and if there's problems, discuss them with your parents first, not some random person hiding behind a computer screen. Since we don't know what you're really like or what could happen if we give out advice only from a computer, all we can really do is listen.

I sort of understand and agree with you shadow, but why come to a thread that's called "Whats your problem" if you don't want to hear about other people's problems? I doubt KevinM is here trying to start a new Identity, and maybe he thought he could find someone who really could help him. The fact that there are so many different people all over the internet gives him the opportunity to ask possibly thousands of different people. Maybe he already has talked to relatives and phsychiatrists, and maybe they just didn't help.

I did agree with your post before this one though.

Earthquakes don't affect just ONE town, Kenny.

When I lived in Portland, we had an earthquake that started near Seattle.

But seriously, there's not much you can do during an earthquake. Just take stuff that'd fall easily off your shelves, stay under something sturdy, and enjoy the ride.

The worst part about my problem is that we were supposed to get it years ago, nobody knows when it'll hit. It's gotten me so paranoid.... you have know idea how scary thunder is until you've lived in this area. btw, is 9/10 really that high?

What area are you in, Alpha?

Earthquakes are measured using a Richter scale. According to Wikipedia, a 9 is "Devastating in areas several thousand miles across." And that it happens once every twenty years.

Now stop making us do the research, and use yourself some Google.

Natural disasters occur sporadically. No one knows when they will hit.

A huge hurricane was supposed to his us numerous times and only did 2 years ago. A huge volcano is brewing under Yellowstone National Park (Old Faithful) that last erupted millions of years ago causing substantial devastation.

Really, if you let yourself get paranoid over natural disasters, you'll go crazy.

1. I go to this site too much.
2. When I'm on this site, I often make grammatical errors.
3. I blink fast.
4. I'm raciest(to Ness mains, duh...).
5. No one loves me.
6. I have asthma.

Well atleast I don't have insomnia. *Laughs at SWF*... Wait that was mean. Shall I put myself under the meany list? Or is it just a misdemeanor?

Wow, did you ever pick a bad time to post that.

Lethal Concoction

Although I cannot dare compete with a destroyed house, I have an interesting and mildly annoying problem.

I have an incredibly mild OCD complex that I inherited from my mother - nothing dehabilitating or even unusual. It's usually little things like writing out complex descriptions for each song on my music folder on my computer so that I can quickly find it in Google Desktop (although I know exactly where it is...) and touching every pole or post when walking somewhere.

I have an incredibly lazy procrastination complex that I've inherited from my father. The cramped room I live in usually has clothing, electronics and DVD cases all over the floor and every now and then when jumping from my doorway to my bed I sometimes hear a demoralising crack of new headphones under a not-so-lightly trodden foot.

This combination (and recombination) of genes makes for an interesting dilemma:

I die inside when my room is untidy, but I can't be bothered doing anything about it... I guess I'll just have to keep dying on the inside.

I got a problem. ACNE. Anyone know of a good solution. I've tried proactive, sucked, and I've also tried Differin. The only thing that really worked for me was some pill the dermatologist gave me, but then I can't go in the sunlight.

Any suggestions?

Stay away from oily food, wash your face twice a day, and resist the urge to pick at it. Other than that, there's nothing you can do about it, you just have to wait it out, and eventually it will go away as you get older.

The Ship is a game on Steam where you play a passenger on a ship who has to kill someone else on board. At the same time, someone else is trying to kill you. It has a pretty fun single player mode, but the main attraction is the Multiplayer Mode.

It's on Steam for about $30 for both, I THINK. I can't check prices since I bought them. Both well worth it. Also, I am toying around with Gmod 10 and Source SDK.

The Game is something you don't speak of. PM mic asking him what it is and tell him I told you to do so.

Proactive worked for me.. I dunno, whatever you use, make sure you STICK with it, you wont see results that are good for like... 2-3 weeks of using proactive or whatever other cleaner like.. 2 or 3 times a day.

Also if you have acne that keeps coming back (like I did) that means there is an underlying infection so you need to make sure the cleaner you use has medical ingredients like salasytic acid, yes I mispelled that but thats something that kills zits.

Luckily Im like 19 and a half now and my acne is gone, I just wash my face with regular soap or facial stuff now :)

Whats my problem? I dont have any ****ing weed.

I'm almost 20 now, and It seems like my acne is getting worse. I may just go back to those pills I was taking and just avoid the sunlight. Even though I love sunlight.

CK- Have you ever used Tylenol Simply Sleep, I know you use Ambien, but TSS is an over the counter sleep medicine that really helps clear my mind so I can sleep. It doesn't really knock you out, but it helps clear my busy mind so I can get to sleep.

Well my life has picked up major because i have a gf now.... But now that causes new problems. Because of vacation times we cant see each other for a month... I asked her like 2 days ago.

Okay on to a more serious problem.... I'm a perfectionist. I practice and practice until i get perfect form in tennis perfect technical skillz in smash. I am really consistant during practice, but then i goto tournaments. And i just do so horrible every time. Now i just had a tennis tournament yesterday where i played some scrub that was completely new to tennis. I've been playing in tournaments yearround for like 5 years now. His form sucked and he didnt move on the court. I end up getting so frustrated while playing him that i lost T_T. I actually feel like quitting competative play for a while but my parents wont let me.
