What's the best way to pull off Luigi's Up+B?

I secondary Luigi and I consider myself pretty good with him. (Purple Luigi ~ Pimp clothes ftw!)
One thing bothers me though.
No matter how many matches I use Weegee in, I can't seem to discover even a semi-reliable method for pulling off that devastating Fire Jump Punch.
How do you Luigi mainers get in a good Fire Jump Punch even in serious matches against good opponents?
I'd really like to know so I can become even more deadly with the Green Bro.

And oh yeah, Mario < Luigi :p

My most reliable FJP is the Jab to FJP. Of course, then there's the situational ones like when an enemy fails to connect a laggy attack.

Jab>FJP is powersheildable.

FF nair to JFP is better.

As is a tripped dtilt.
FF nair is easily powershieldable too. I've pulled every trick in the book when it comes to the FJP, once you hit a certain point, you seriously just have to be able to read and punish your enemy's mistakes, because they won't give you a chance to use that move. One way i get the firepunch is to pressure them to airdodge by short hopping a fireball and then fast fall to where they are landing (while air dodging) and punishing them there. But even that is not reliable. Tripped dtilt works, if you don't get powershielded and it trips the first time. Even that isn't surefire, my friend can time the trip get up animation to avoid my attack with invincibility frames. Seriously, Oblique from the Mario boards is Anti-Luigi, he counters everything i throw out.

Basically at high levels of play, you can't really ever force a FJP. What it is though, is the perfect punishment move. If someone ****s up against luigi, they die.

Whats great about luigi is that everyone is always either in combo %s or KO %s.

Hippiedude showed me how reliable the inescapable Jab+D-Tilt (and if he trips) Up+B. I didn't think it was so good until I got owned by it.

Either Dtilt or jab + FJP!

I mean, don't use it too much or u wil get too predictable. Use it like: Rack up damadge mostly in the air and than BUM Fire punch to a kill. Also try mixing things up like try 2 jabs than fire punch and sometimes one jab...try mindgames like Jab than just use a different moves it usually wroks on better players that r aware of Jabs. Also Dtilt tripps ur opponet but it's usually hard to pull off so use it when u feel like it! than there's aerial punch jump, which u will able to pull of when u have a decent aerial momentum, but opponets usually Air Dodge it easily so use it when ur opponet is off the guard. And finally Ledge Punching. Use it when u r close to ur opponet which is grabbing on the ledge, to punch him on the air or better, use it right after he's off the edge...

Well thatz it im sorry If I forgot something I hope tht helped!

I didn't even know Luigi had a tripping move =O

And it sounds odd.. but I always seem to get it off, but I Dthrow -> UpB. Otherwise I never get it. I'm also pretty sure it's more powerful on the ground, but I find racing an opponent up close (who pushes the buttons first), pushing UpB never seems to happen as fast as their.. well anything. So I have to resort to doing it in the air.

By the time you can KO them from the air though, you have better KO options.

The only time I ever really use shoryuken in the air is when they're landing helplessly on a platform above me. Normally from a recovery move, or a whiffed agressive upb of their own. Just turns it into a killing aerial.

The guys i fight always airdodge after a dsmash, so you might be able to get a grounded UpB if they airdodge incorrectly and lag.

I guess my way is stupid, all I do just run to my opponent until he do a smash attack then I sidestep to slide to get close than Bam! get them with the uppercup. those that sound stupid or that kinda like a good idea, it work for me sometimes.

The better players I face, the harder it is to pull off the UP+Bs :( It seems almost impossible to set up the up+b against great players... Anyone else have this problem?
