Not entirely sure this is the best section to post this in (definitely the best forum, though), but I have an old GameCube kicking around that me and my friends love playing Smash and old GCN games on. The set of controllers we have are original Nintendo ones, but they've started to just be plain unresponsive as of late, and it's making the Smash rounds more annoying than fun. So, I figured we should buy a new set.
Wires are a pain, so I immediately thought of the Wavebird, but they don't make them anymore. New ones are being sold for crazy prices, so they don't seem to be worth it. There are a few third-party ones, though. The most promising one (to me) would be the Komodo Shockwave controllers. The form factor seems similar to the Wavebird, and it doesn't have any dumb turbo button or anything like that. Plus, rumble (yeah, kills the batteries, worth it IMO).
Of course, I don't really like third-party controllers; the ones I have used feel cheap as hell and break easily. If there's anyone that's had a good experience with the Komodo or another third-party wireless controller, I'd love to hear from you.
Next option would be to just grab a few more of the official Nintendo-made ones, but I only see them being sold for like $30 each, and $120 is better spent elsewhere.
But, then again, I'm an uninformed noob. Perhaps you guys could give me a hand, steer me in the right direction?
