Okay, we all know that E3 is going to see some new characters revealed, and we know the trailers for them are going to be awesome. But how exactly will they be revealed? At what time? Will they stagger the announcements or release their hand all at once?
I predict we'll see at least one newcomer after the invitational. I think it would be pretty funny if the reveal trailer started with dialogue ala Tomadochi Life (see where I'm going with this?), to the effect of "You've done well to win, ____. But can you defeat...MII?!" Cue a Reggie/Sakurai Mii striking a valiant pose in front of his throne, with the winner of the invitational then having to beat the Mii.
I also expect Shulk to be the segue between X and Smash Bros.
The lights will dim, the crowd's anticipation will be teetering off the hype scale, just before revealing a newcomer trailer. The trailer will start with dark clouds dispersing amidst roaring battles underneath them, in thunderous strokes. A mist will overtake the characters, suddenly puzzled and befuddled at the phenomena.. A creature with unusual fingers will appear, only to reveal a Battletoad. Ultimately, Sakurai laughs and laughs at his remarkable skill to fool millions once again.
It will start off like the other ones. Starts off with a black screen, before something slashes the screen and the Smash logo appears as flames, before going to the reveal.
I feel like there will either be one continuous reveal trailer, or we see surprise ones throughout the direct and then we see one during the Smash portion.
Maybe the trailers scattered across the direct corresponding to the games (i.e X with Shulk)
But what I would LOVE to see is a villains trailer unlikely, but would be amazing.
I'm pretty sure we might get an "E3 trailer" during the Digital Event, it would be neat if they showed off another character trailer before the invitational tournament begins sort of like how Wii Fit Trainer was on the floors after the Direct.
The trailer starts with Palutena's back, then she turns around and her face is not Palutena, but a certain man. "You thought it was Palutena, but it was I, Dio!" And then the tagline "Dio competes The World!" and shows gameplay footage of Dio Brando in action.

I expect a short speech regarding SSB, and then a video (which I hope) reveals a new Kirby character/Meta-Knight. Triple Deluxe has been too much fun for a newcomer not to be announced. If anyone, I hope it's Bandana Dee, since a villain is already present.

We see the Smash logo sliced into the screen. Mario, Link, Kirby and Samus charge towards each other as the logo appears. Gameplay footage showing off several new characters, with tiny cinematics revealing veterans as they drop into the battle:
"Wario Stinks it Up!"
"Ness Protects Humanity!"
"Captain Falcon Races In!"
"Ice Climbers Drop on By!"
That kind of thing. I expect some newcomers (and the fate of Ridley), and then end. Suddenly, challenger approaching. In a dark room, a lone box sits. WE get the ! and see Solid Snake jump out. "Sorry to keep you waiting". He gets into a codec with Campbell, and talks about how the tournament is much bigger. We see silhouettes of the fighters (Mario, Sonic, Mega Man) close in on Snake. Snake asks where he is, and the wall behind him glows a neon blue. A strange noise (waka waka) gets louder, as Mario, Snake, Sonic and Mega Man watch Pac-Man land in, and make a pose.
Instead of the sound effects of slashes creating the the Smash logo, 2 swords are visibly swung to created it instead. No fire is present, but instead a mysterious red boot is running off screen.
The scene starts in a open valley with random assortments of animals nearby. Link, Marth, and Pit are walking when suddenly a gang of thugs wearing identical clothing and helmets that cover their eyes appear surrounding them in a flash.
They refer to themselves as Desians and want to rid the world of all people who do not share their racial blood!
All of a sudden, the red silhouette you saw back at the intro appears in front of the sun rays! Blinded by the light, no one can yet see him, but a familiar sound is heard as he swings his sword creating a blast of energy! "DEMON FANG." One of the Desians is struck down and the mysterious man is finally distinguishable.
He turns his face towards the camera:
"Lloyd Irving slices a path!"
With one Desian down, Marth, Link, and Pit prepare for the attack on the rest. As they fight and show off their display of swordsmanship, Lloyd Irving starts to charge up for an attack. Before long, Lloyd signals the heroes to get out of the way as he unleashes his final smash, Divine Judgement!
Lloyd twirls his dual swords back into his sheathes and the Smash Bros. title does its thing.
If that one leak is true (or maybe even if it isn't) I have a hard time imagining that Chrom and Shulk's reveals won't be tied in with one another somehow. Like maybe a joint trailer?
I imagine a cinematic involving Shulk saving Chrom from an unfortunate future. You know, as a way of referencing major plot points from both of their original games.
I expect a cinematic much like the Greninja trailer, I'm going to say it'll include Captain Falcon, then Ness, then Ridley as the big reveal. In a post-trailer scene much like Snake and Mega Man, Pac-Man will be confirmed.
Oh pesky mortals, I'm secretly Sakurai and I'll spoiler you how this years E3 will blow your minds with epicness.
Like usuall, Smash Bros will be shown last at this years E3.
After all the Bombs dropped by Iwata like a new F Zero, 150hour playtime Zelda, a new Star Fox by Platinum Games and Super Mario Sunshine Galaxy,
it's now my time to shine.
I pop up, smiling like usuall and waving to the viewevers. My translator to my right side, the following words come out:
"Hello everyone. I am Masahiro Sakurai, the Super Smash Brother from the Super Smash Brothers. Please lend me your hype in order to activate the Smash Trailer.
After standing there for a short while making my famous INTENSIFIES pose, my hands suddenly start to glow and a white beam comes out of my hands, hitting the screen behind me.
After that, everything goes dark,and music appears, followed by the typical Smash Intro symbol.
Like in the Greninja Trailer, you see a dark shioullete at the beginning, but this time you can't tell who this should be.
The view switches to Little Mac, currently fighting Donkey Kong in the ring. He uses his Uppercut and KOs him with ease.
Diddy jumps in and tries to revenge his big friend, bringing his peanut gun to a fist-fight.
He jumps and runs to the middle of the ring, pointing his gun to the confused Mac who stands in one corner.
Suddenly, a loud metalic noice, and both look upwards to the lights.
Someone is standing on them as they crush down onto Diddy Kong, who then gets blasted away in a big sakurai angle.
After the lights go on again, you see a gigantic Krokodile standing there with a krown and boxing gloves, kelebrating his victory. KING K ROOL HAS HIS FINEST HOUR
The screen switches back to the dark shioulette, it's still inpossible to tell who this should be, but the camera zooms slowly out and it looks like he is hiding in some kind of advanced laboratory.
The next szene, a retro Stage: Termina Bay.
You see Link and ToonLink dunk it out, having a swordfight. Link, having the longer reach, is about to win and going to throw ToonLink into the water, but a Shadowball hits Link and blasts him away.
ToonLink eyes go wide, as his greatest foe appears right behind Link. A (MOSTLY) DECLONED GANONDORF APPEARS
He puts out his sword of the sages and starts to go for ToonLink, who runs away from him in short circles (imagine it like in the old cartoons).
After a short while, Toon Link suddenly stop and puts on some sunglasses, while pulling out a green modified GameBoy Advance.
Ganondorf seems to be confused for a second, but then mocks him and goes for the finishing blow.
ToonLink pushes the big red button, and something big falls down on Ganondorf (see something in common?).
A Bombexplosion blasts Ganondorf away and ToonLink jumps around happily, brofisting his pal who comes down from his Balloon. TINGLE IS NOT HATED ENOUGH
Switching back to the shioulette, you see the laboratory now but the dark shioulette went missing.
You guys probably know already who this might be.
Back to fighting: You see Rool and Tingle team up and fight Pit and Zamus, showing their new moves. Tingle throws Rubys, Bombs and horrorily high priced maps at his enemies, while Rool smashes his Blunderbus around, also sometimes shooting cannonballs and throwing his crown in order to make a projectile barrikade.
Pit and Zamus are cornered, hiding behind a big rock while the other two keep their barrage up.
You guys notice its the big nostalic sandfield from the Brawl Trailer, at least you should notice it when you see a fat guy driving towards Pit and Zamus with a Bike, followed by a batlike creature.
Wario and Metaknight are coming to help their fellow Brawl veterans, Wario jumps out of his motorcycle and proceeds to eat some delicious cannon balls from Rools Blunderbuss as well as the other projectiles, stopping the projectilespam and leaving room for Pit and Zamus to shoot back.
Team Green gazed perplexed at each other and made a big retreat. After only some meters, Rool noticed he stepped on something, gazing down on his feet which are touching a landmine. Rool and Tingle get blasted away, and the camera zooms to the owner of the landmine, who is hiding behind a cartbox. SNAKE KEPT US WAITING
The fun goes on with Pokemon.
Mega Charizard and Jigglypuff are to be seen, the first one flying away from later who jumps around happily, probably because of the type disadvantage.
Charizard being fully in panic, he doesn't pay attention where he flies to and crashes through some walls from a lonly building in the middle of some kind of a jungle.
Thinking he got away from Jigglypuff, Charizard looks around and notices he is in some kind of research facility.
Gazing around, he notices a figure in the shadows. He moves his burning tail towards that figure, and a long awaited Melee Pokemon veteran gets reveiled. PICHU STRIKES BACK
Charizard breaks out in some kind of laughter (symbolizing my trolling), while Pichu showing off his new thunderabilities.
He seems to be a Luigilike clone now, having a different Up-B and Normal-B as well as some new A moves.
Speaking of Clones and Pokemon...
(You all know what comes now)
The dragon who is very similar Charizard, Ridley gets shown as a Stage Hazard in Pyrosphere.
He is about to munch Zamus, holding her in his claws and flying around.
It looks like it will be a horrible death for her, as he opens his mouth and aims for her head.
She starts to cry (thanks Team Ninja) as she loses all hope, but gets saved in the last second.
Another dragon invaded pyrosphere, beating up OtherM Ridley. YOU'RE NEVER TO BIG TO BE IN SMASH
The original Ridley attacked his clone and saved his archrival Samus.
Samus lands on the ground safely, and while the two Ridley are fighting about who is the biggest Ridley.
The screen slowly goes dark and the music fades out, as the trailer is already near the end.
But its not over yet! One last character appears, and since you have read through all this, I might as well show you the final video segment.
They show Brawl gameplay footage, as if it were an accident. The crowd is confused. There is nothing but silence once it ends. Fade to black. Then you hear a voice that says, "I never get bored playing Super Bash Sisters." The camera zooms out to reveal that Palutena was playing Brawl with Pit the entire time. Cue leaked Palutena screenshot for three seconds. Then the camera zooms out again, and it's actually Medusa playing a 3DS. Then zoom out again, and Hades is in the background laughing menaically.
Not sure what is confirmed. Smashboards temporarily shuts down after trailer's debut.
I had an idea for two HUGE reveal trailers at E3, revealing 2 newcomers, 4 veterans (and some stages) each... I mean, it'll probably never happen, but here goes. I call it "Heroes & Villains".
Trailer #1: Heroes (Towards/at the beginning of E3 digital event):
Opens to a familiar looking field with huge rocks in the foreground and background. Pit is fighting back legions of Hades' army, but is struggling. All of a sudden, back-up arrives. NESS warps in from one side of the field, and CAPTAIN FALCON flies into a group of enemy soldiers on the Blue Falcon. ICE CLIMBERS are dropped in by a condor and SNAKE is lifted in by helicopter, respectively. The group begin to get pushed back by a never-ending sea of enemy monsters, and the screen begins to darken. Before, long, however, a shining light envelopes the battlefield, and the enemies begin to scatter. The light slowly fades to reveal PALUTENA. As Pit nears Palutena to thank her, however, an army of Mechons ambush them, capturing all of the heroes. All hope appears lost until SHULK storms in and destroys all of the enemies with the Xenoblade. Trailer cuts to gameplay footage of all the revealed characters, including some fighting on the GUAR PLAINS stage.

Begins with Mario and Kirby fighting Bowser and King Dedede in a large castle hall. The duo manage to defeat their arch nemeses, before being simultaneously ambushed by WARIO and META KNIGHT. As this fight rages, we see Link swordfighting on the balcony; the camera slowly pans out to reveal he is fighting with GANONDORF. The fighting rages on for a bit before a huge crashing noise is heard. All of the fighting characters rush outside to see a pirate ship is attempting to attack the castle. Kremlings pour into the castle, led by KING K. ROOL. The Kremling army quickly rounds up Mario, Kirby, and Link, but Wario and Meta Knight, sensing an opportunity, betray the king, take the good guys in their cages and make a run for it. Back on the ship, a screeching noise is heard from far away, startling the Kremlings and confusing the other bad guys. As it nears we see a dragon's silhouette... Eventually RIDLEY apparates and burns down the ship, including K. Rool's precious banana hoard. The characters just about manage to run into the castle and lock themselves in for now. Meanwhile, Wario and Meta Knight can hear Ridley approaching, so run into a nearby dark cave. The cave is very mysterious and alien in nature. The foes relax, only to be levitated into the air suddenly and thrown against a wall, releasing the good guys from their cages in the process. They turn around to wonder what creature could be so powerful as to control them with its thoughts... MEWTWO appears. Trailer cuts to gameplay footage of all the revealed charactrs (with Ganondorf decloned), including some fighting on the BOWSER'S CASTLE, GANGPLANK GALLEON and CERULEAN CAVE stages.
I think we will get the game's intro video. It'll show all the characters already confirmed while revealing little tricks and stages along the way while hinting at certain hidden characters and newcomers.
I expect it to be something like E3 last year.
I expect a couple of veterans like Meta Knight and Wario and it would pretty much act like the very first trailer. We will get a newcomer and some new stages. We will then go immediately into another trailer and it will be them revealing Pac-Man for Smash.
I would love to see Shulk get confirmed.

The trailer should make it where it shows all the Smash Bros. games leading up to this one, with the original 12 appearing in the "SSB64" sequence, the Melee vets coming back in the "Melee" sequence, of which plays out like the Melee Opening Sequence. Finally, the Brawl veterans come back in the "Brawl" sequence, with Snake kicking Mario in the face as a surprise appearance. Of course, this is theoretical.
Now for the newcomers, if any, and if possible, these characters' introductions: Palutena - Her trailer fades in as people see a staff and shield hanging up, with Palutena exclaiming, "This time...", with her grabbing her staff and shield, "I will fight alongside you, Pit!" The title should say, "Palutena Brings Light to Darkness!"
Ghirahim - His trailer comes in with people seeing both him and Link fighting in Skyward Sword, with Ghirahim almost being defeated. A cutscene plays as he licks his lips, with a text box stating, "Not this game...", and the entire background distorting into the Smash Bros. game, with Ghirahim laughing. The title says, "Ghirahim will take your blood."
Leon S. Kennedy - If Snake isn't confirmed, a leg kicks Snake in the face as the screen fades to black. A voice says, "1998...should have been the day I have been in the series. But today is now the day...", as a hand loads a gun, "...I will fight!" Leon S. Kennedy appears twirling his handguns and soon points them at the opponents, saying, "It's my turn.", with the title, "Leon S. Kennedy Fires Off"
But this is just all theoretical...and probably...most likely...won't happen.
Mewtwo trailer: A Mii version of Sakurai is in an office. Another Mii walks in (lets say, Iwata Mii), and they both look at a video feed on a computer. Both Miis look concerned, as they see on their video feed that Mewtwo is fighting out of his Mech-a-power-withholding machine (Giovanni's). Mewtwo escapes: "Mewtwo returns to battle!" and the trailer includes Mewtwo beating up on Mii Sakurai, Lucario, and various others.

Im expecting the E3 trailer to play out like brawls e3 trailer.. Revealing newcomers like palutena, shulk, crom, (maybe) dixie kong. While the returning veterans return. Then after that is finished we are getting pacman reveal and a ridley reveal.. Who knows
Like I said in another thread, that ridley in the direct was his character for real! Kraid made the hole in the wall.

I find it super odd we haven't see Metaknight yet, so I'm guessing they are saving him with a trailer. However usually trailers are only for newcomers (with the exception of Sonic because he is third party.) So I'm thinking we are getting another Charizard/Greninja situation, but with Metaknight and Bandana Dee.
You hear green greens music and you see Kirby strolling along with a picnic basket. You see him wave over at some one, it is Bandana Dee! They are eating sandwiches until the sky goes dark and you hear a rumble. It is Metaknight in his Halbard! Bandana Dee and Kirby go on to fight Metaknight showing gameplay of Metaknight's reworked moveset and Bandana Dee's moves. It also reveals a new green greens stage.
As the tournement ends, everyone will be clapping, than an announcer will come on stage and ask everyone to stay in their seats, then the lights will dim, then sakurai will come on stage with his mii character mask on his face, and will bow and point at the screen. then it will show an intense battle with all the characters we know, Than all of a sudden the mii will be reavealed, and some people will be applauding and some will be booing and saying "OWMAGOSH WTF SAKURAI?? GAWD!"
Not a newcomer reveal, but one for Ganondorf re-vamped and Mewtwo;
The audience hears Ganondorf plays his Organ like in OoT, while the audience "travels" though the Gerudo desert up Ganon's tower and up a long staircase all accompanied by screenshots of Ganondorf losing matches to the rest of the cast in Brawl (in a flash back style in black and white from Ganon's perspective). Suddenly he stops playing as we reach his chamber he than starts laughing insanely (like in WW when Hyrule castle is being drowned) than we finally see his face as he turns around and draws his sword! with the Triforce of power glowing brightly.
Ganondorf is back with a Vengeance! his final fight theme music from twilight princess starts to play as his new move set gets showcased. Epic display of new Ganondorf commences!
We reach another cut-scene as Ganondorf and Link are dueling, just as Ganondorf is about to overpower Link and deliver a finishing blow he gets interrupted by an explosion! We get a zoom in of the mystery fighter... Mewtwo strikes back! Epic Mewtwo action commences!
Any other character reveals can take place in between these 2. Except if Ridley is playable than he will close out the trailer reveals as he would generate the most hype.
If Ridley is playable, I can't wait to see Sakurai trolling us with his trailer. It will be something like "Ridley appears as a stage hazard", and then Ridley striking the "captions" and turning it to "as a playable character". *.*
I think a character reveal before or after (or both) the Invitational is a given. It will either be a newcomer or a Melee character or some form of fan favorite. It would have to be someone that they think the tourney players would actually be excited about. I would think.
I don't think anyone will get revealed during the Q&A. At best, vague hints, but I doubt an actual reveal. If there is, maybe a vet.
As for the Digital Event, the two possibilities are either something like last year or a bunch of transitional reveals between games (if they're related).
Both are cool to me. Transitional ones would dual-hype for SSB & the game coming out. The E3 2013 (or Brawl reveal) approach would also be great simply because of the epicness of having a bunch of characters shown at once.
People are hyped for lots of newcomers, but this happened with the Direct too, and we only got 1. I think we'll mostly get veterans out of the way with, and a tiny amount of newcomers. We already have 6, after all. 3-4 puts ust at 9-10, which could be nearly all of them.
Not trying to be a party pooper, I want tons of reveals. I just don't want to expect like 5 new guys and all the vets only to have it be a few reveals.

I would have been in the same boat if it weren't for the fact they're shoving SSB down our throats at E3. Nintendo's literally taking over the day, and most of it is for Super Smash Bros. The invitational & the Q/A thing are pretty much the rest of the day after the Digital Event, which will definitely be showing SSB as well.
The information about stages/features will mostly be detailed during the Q&A thing. They're dedicating a good hour & a half to that.

ICE CLIMBERS are dropped in by a condor and SNAKE is lifted in by helicopter, respectively. The group begin to get pushed back by a never-ending sea of enemy monsters, and the screen begins to darken. Before, long, however, a shining light envelopes the battlefield, and the enemies begin to scatter. The light slowly fades to reveal PALUTENA. As Pit nears Palutena to thank her, however, an army of Mechons ambush them, capturing all of the heroes. All hope appears lost until SHULK storms in and destroys all of the enemies with the Xenoblade. Trailer cuts to gameplay footage of all the revealed characters, including some fighting on the GUAR PLAINS stage.
Trailer #2: Villains (At the end of E3 digital event):
Begins with Mario and Kirby fighting Bowser and King Dedede in a large castle hall. The duo manage to defeat their arch nemeses, before being simultaneously ambushed by WARIO and META KNIGHT. As this fight rages, we see Link swordfighting on the balcony; the camera slowly pans out to reveal he is fighting with GANONDORF. The fighting rages on for a bit before a huge crashing noise is heard. All of the fighting characters rush outside to see a pirate ship is attempting to attack the castle. Kremlings pour into the castle, led by KING K. ROOL. The Kremling army quickly rounds up Mario, Kirby, and Link, but Wario and Meta Knight, sensing an opportunity, betray the king, take the good guys in their cages and make a run for it. Back on the ship, a screeching noise is heard from far away, startling the Kremlings and confusing the other bad guys. As it nears we see a dragon's silhouette... Eventually RIDLEY apparates and burns down the ship, including K. Rool's precious banana hoard. The characters just about manage to run into the castle and lock themselves in for now. Meanwhile, Wario and Meta Knight can hear Ridley approaching, so run into a nearby dark cave. The cave is very mysterious and alien in nature. The foes relax, only to be levitated into the air suddenly and thrown against a wall, releasing the good guys from their cages in the process. They turn around to wonder what creature could be so powerful as to control them with its thoughts... MEWTWO appears. Trailer cuts to gameplay footage of all the revealed charactrs (with Ganondorf decloned), including some fighting on the BOWSER'S CASTLE, GANGPLANK GALLEON and CERULEAN CAVE stages.
Man I'm a little late, but I really like your idea with the whole Heroes & Villains thing. I don't think it will be as story driven as you explained it, but something shorter in a similar fashion could be done. I really hope we see something like this in E3 tho, seeing how Sakurai has turned into a trolling crowd pleaser recently, I'm hoping to see these guys in. Although I think the Heroes & Villains should be restricted to Veterans, that way, we could see the Newcomers represented in their respective game announcements(Shulk when they show X, Chrom when they show FEXSMT, etc.) By the way I apologize to anyone if there's something wrong with my post this is my first time in one of these forum/thread type of things and I'm completely lost XD bear with me while I learn.
I'm pretty certain they'll just end up going with another Villager-type trailer. General footage, some new stages probably, MAYBE some unseen veterans, and then through the vid they show the newcomer and highlight him for a minute or two, followed up by another till the trailer ends.
Then they talk about the game in terms of modes, features, other details, and then... one final "shocking" reveal like Pac Man or Ridley or someone we legitimately didn't see coming.
