OK, so i picked up Lucas like on Friday, and I've gotten pretty good w/ DIing his dair approach and what not, so i was wondering what moves are good for after they've hit the ground, I've been using AAA or nair, but nair is not fast enough so. But AAA seems noobish, so i was wondering if there's a better followup move that does more damage. Also wondering if here's where doing some jab cancellings would work like jab, crouch, to ftilt or something, idk. Anyways, what do you guys do after the semispike, this is assuming they are hit when they are on the stage, and they hit the ground.

Uh, if you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then dair isn't a semispike. Semispikes are moves that send you at an angle below the horizontal but not straight down iirc. You can use fsmash on a prone opponent if they faceplant the ground and don't tech or whatever. If they do tech, then I'd use the jab combo or shield.

EDIT: I fail to see what's noobish about the jab combo.

First off, the jab combo is far from noobish. It's really fast (third fastest in the game) and it's powerful too.

Second, it's not a semi-spike. It's just a weak spike.

Honestly, Dair to AAA is very effective for building up damage.

so AAA does the most damage, or it's probably just the best overall due to speed/damage ratio

and yeah, i didn't mean a semi spike, but yeah, pseudo spike or weak spike, w/e it's called

OT: Who has the first and second fastest jabs, then?
ZSS at 0/1 frame, and Squirtle at 1/2 frames.

IIRC, ZSS has an instant jab, like no frames of lag from pressing A to seeing her punch. If it does have lag, it's 1 frame. Same thing with squirtle.

um, there are some attacks that have a hitbox on frame 1, and frame 0 is the frame you do the input, which it kinda impossible.

I'd imagine that there are several characters with frame 1 jabs.

Most of the time after Dair, I'll either AAA or U tilt. Both are very effective for me. Someimes I'll use U smash instead, to catch them off guard and do some heavy damge and knockback.

That's kinda what I meant.

You do the attack, one frame, two frames, etc later it comes out. 1 frame later does not mean 1 frame of lag, so to speak.

And actually, ZSS and Squirtle have the 2 fastest jabs at 1 frame and 2 frames, respectively. Maybe 5 frame jabs are usually what happens, not too sure. When it's 30fps, the difference between 1 and 6 frames is somewhat noticable, but not noticable outright.

What moves work will depend upon percentage and character. Bowser for instance can Up B out of his shield even before you can get out jabs. Some other characters however don't have fast enough viable moves to avoid getting hit by SH Nairs of SH Uairs. It's all going to depend on the situation. If you're lucky you'll be against someone who likes to try to spot dodge your SH Nairs, AAA etc allowing you to get a free Usmash or Dsmash. If you're feeling really tricky you can even run behind them and do a pivot grab if you find that they like to shield. The applications of this can go a whole lot of places.
