Hey everyone. I would love an explanation on the origin of "johns". Was there a player sometime in the past that this term is based off of? I'm interested.

It was a melee player from I believe Arkansas whose name was john. They had a "finding john" thread in the melee discussion not too long ago and they ended up finding him. His tag is like "ace" or something, and he plays falcon. Term first came into use in like 2003 I believe. They named it after him because he johned constantly.

johns can be legit. "No johns" means that you don't make excuses EVEN IF you really did lose because of some factor. Maybe especially if. Few johns are illegitimate.
