What Shuold I use to record My Vids at a high quality?

This is bugging me cause i want to know if my Luigi is good or not, so just some devices i could use would be Phenomenal.
And if this isnt the right place to ask this just say so and redirect me to the correct place.

I use Pinnacle media tv tuner with my lap top and a thing called a digital video amplifier. Pinnacle has software and hardware to transmit and record video on your lap top (make sure you have a ton of space free for longer vids). The digital video amplifier is basically a fancy name for an av splitter. It takes in A/V inputs and outputs 4 copies of the input. One goes to the Pinnacle thingy, and the other goes to the TV.

There is probably an easier way, but I like using a computer rather than a DVD.
