I don't know if there was a topic like this before, and I apologize if there was, but since I didn't see it: I'm starting it!

So, just as the topic title states, what tunes do you guys want Sakurai and crew to include this time around?

If there's a Punch-Out Boxing Arena stage, I would love to not only a remix of the training music/fight music from the NES game, but also King Dedede's Music from the Kirby games -- I can picture having to fight him on that stage to unlock him ;)

I also would love to hear the Spacestation Self-Destruct/Ridley's Theme from Super Metroid (though you guys prolly all recognize it as the Meta-Ridley music from Prime now :lick:), but it would have to be slowed down a little to really work as fight music for a Smash game.

Finally, for now, who's up for Yoshi's Athletic from Yoshi's Island? :p I would love to kick some to that music!

The Metal Gear Solid boss music - on a moving stage where you're being chased by Metal Gear Rex and running for your lives.

I think that a lil bit of rap/hip hop beats would bring some more energy to the fight.(I mean the good beats...not that meanstream crap.)

Alotta hip-hop beats wouuld be good, but since they're a bunch of asians I doubt that will happen.

It'd be cool if they could get the Super Mario Rap Instrumental/Underground cave beat.

That hasn't been in one Smash yet for some reason...
Duh na na-na-na-na

I wanna see some "Gun 419" and "Jellyfish" in smash!

Go and watch 4 chan city!

Gun 419! Listen to it! Maybe Nintendo has ties with them.

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/315482

EDIT: ^^^^This one is a bit weird...^^^^

And also, this would make a good theme tune for Bowser!
It was performed by "Jellyfish" in the Nintendo Album "White Knuckle Scorin"
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/315325

Watch them both, they're pretty good.

Actually...the music is my favourite part of SSB...

I dig that boxing ring idea...though I thought of it as being the way around with it being the ring in the King Dedede fight in Kirby Super Star and having the Punch-Out fight song as an alternate.

I want the Underworld Theme from Kid Icarus to play on Pit's stage since it has a riff from the Kid Icarus Theme.

For Meta Knight...Ya know...the Meta Knight fight theme in Kirby Super Star sounds a lot like the Ridley battle theme. But for the Halberd stage I'd want Halfmoon from Revenge of Meta Knight...remixed with the credits theme 'cause the credits theme to RoMK is hella pimp.

I think the first stage from Wario World would work for Wario's stage...I don't ever remember him having a theme song...

I guess for Snake's stage just have the MGS theme.
- - - - - - -
I also want unique victory themes for all the characters...

I'll just list the ones for all the characters I want...
(the original twelve (minus Luigi and Samus), Marth, and the Pokemon have the ones they've had since the first game)
Luigi-Clear a normal stage from SMW
Bowser-I have no idea
Peach- A remix of the song that plays when you rescue her in the Mario games
Ganondorf-I have no idea on this one, either
Samus- They should replace it with a riff from the credits from Super Metroid
Zelda and Sheik-Get a crystal in LttP
Young Link-The song that plays when you get an item (it'd have to be more drawn out)
Snake-The song they played in the trailer
Geno-Victory theme from SMRPG
Dedede-I don't really know...
Diddy-The song that plays wihen you clear a stage with Dixie in DKC2

These would all have to be orchestrated, too.

- - - - - -

On a side note...I came with this idea for SSBB. I think they should bring back the character select song from SSB but when continually playing multiplayer mode, the song will switch to a song from the game that the last character that scored the highest is from. Like if Mario wins, the character select screen music will be the file select song from Super Mario 64. So...here's the list I came up with..

Luigi-Character select from Doki Doki Panic
Bowser-Just a guitar and orchestra playing his theme from SM64
Yoshi-World Map from Yoshi's Island
DK-Bonus Stage from DKC/DKC2
Young Link-File Select from GB Zelda games
Link-World Map from Four Swords Adventures
Zelda and Sheik-Hyrule Castle?
Samus-Metroid Prime Menu?
Kirby-KSS Game select
Fox-Menu theme in SFAssault
Pokemon-Pokemon select in Pokemon Stadium
Diddy-
Peach, C. Falcon, Ganondorf, Ice Climbers, Ness, Mr. G&W, Marth, Roy, and everyone else...-Dunno...
- - - -

So yeah...I dunno how much space that take on the disc...but I think it would be cool.

And they better freakin' keep the Sound Test.

It would be kind of fun to hear Viridian City in a Pokemon level. Not going to happen though.

Also, The K. Funk would also be a good song, maybe even for an Animal Crossing level or something.

Music from Wave Race 64 and the first Star Fox. They don't have to add a Wave Racer with Wave Race music, just like what they did with the Balloon Trip track and the Mach Rider remix.

For Ness, as long as I hear something like this, I'll be good.

BUT... I'd enjoy hearing the following:

Kirby- Theme of Final Star from Kirby's Adventure
Fox- Andross fight from the original Starfox
Bowser- "Bowser is Pissed" OC_Remix (Probably won't happen)
Legend of Zelda- OoT (Any of the music)

I can't really think of anything else.

I was about to punch you in the face, good thing you brought that up!

I can't say I agree though. Rap/Hip hop beats just don't suit battles. Rock would be more towards the 'energetic' side, but I still prefer orchestrated > *.

You should've said, 'since they're Japanese.'
You should visit LA. The majority of 'Asians' here listen to (mainstream c)rap. And rap/hip hop beats aren't very exciting... they're just easy/nice to listen to.

Brilliant. Zelda and Sheik have their own song, I think?

I prefer Twoson, Onett, Fourside, the bus theme, Bike theme, and the artifact songs. That remix is great though.

SSJ4Kazuki: Great artwork, good lyrics, bad voices, decent song. It's not worthy of a theme of any kind but it's worthy of noting.

Nomis, I have to dissagree. But I do think Rock is pretty energetic aswhile.

There are some pretty complixed AND orchestrated instermental underground Rap beats that would really fit with the game (I put on a few songs every now and then to pump me up).

But I also think a lil Techno could work just fine with SSBB.

I'd especially like to hear the Metal Gear theme. And with that I mean the orchestrated song, not that "Game Over" song you keep hearing.

Star Fox (SNES) - the OLD Corneria and Starfox themes, possibly Meteo if they felt particularly generous.

Y'know, life would be so much better if Nintendo didn't pretend that game never existed...Who knows, the series may have stayed HARD as opposed to the pansy-arse difficulty that was SF64.

I would appreciate both the SNES Corneria music AND the credits to RoMK. God, that ending was sooooo awesome :chuckle: Kirby on a cycle, Meta Knight flying out of the crash, all badass and stuff. Heh heh... I love just listening to that track whenever I start playing the Super Star soundtrack.

All of you guys have some pretty nice ideas, so keep goin'!

A few more of mine:

Star Tropics -- Dungeon, Title Screen, Sub-C
Zoda's Revenge: ST2 -- Dungeon
Super Mario Kart -- Rainbow Road (oooooohhh yeah! :D :D)
Star Fox -- Black Hole (I know it's weird, but I really want a trippy stage in this game)
Mario Bros -- Medley of the game's tracks (c'mon: a Mario Bros. stage would ROCK, complete with Shellcreepers, Fighter Flies, Sidesteppers, and a giant POW block :chuckle: )
Donkey Kong -- Medley of the game's tracks (another great idea for a stage)
Mario and Luigi: SS -- Popple Battle (:p)
Yoshi's Island -- Athletic, which I already mentioned, but also the Title Screen/Intro story would make for a good track (maybe like how it was remixed in Tetris Attack)
Panel de Pon -- Any of the Stage Tracks between 2 and 12 (My favorite is Blaze, but Glacial, Boss, and Flower could work surprisingly well too)
Zelda (I'll lump 'em all together) -- Zelda 1 Overworld NES RIp (screw remixing it XD), Zelda 1 Dungeon/Level 9 Mix, Zelda II Title Screen and Great Palace (I LOVED this game, and it made me so happy to see the Dungeon theme in Melee), LttP Dark World, Boss music, Battle with Ganon
Nazo no Murasamejou -- Overworld Theme
Pokemon -- VS. Rival (aka Gary/Blue) from the original Red/Blue Versions
And, to end this whole list...
A ROB the Robot Gyromite/StackUp Medley, like the one in the Famicom 20th Anniversary Arrangement soundtrack :chuckle: :chuckle:

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Kid Icarus music yet!

Pit's stage definitly has to have either "Underworld" or "Palace in the Sky" Theme Songs, since they are both such classics and are the first thing that comes to mind when I think about Kid Icarus music.

Palace in the Sky (Final Stage): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/KIst4.mid
Underworld (First Stage): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/kidicar1.mid

Personally if I had to choose one, I'd choose Palace in the Sky over the other. But I hope atleast 1 of those songs become the song for Pit's stage!!

I also think that this will 100% be the Meta Knight stage song "On Board the Halberd" from Kirby Super Star... since the level is basically levelled off of Kirby Super Star

I figured the Kid Icarus stuff was assumed ;)

Actually, when I was translating some of the entries on Sakurai's poll, there was a request for the Kid Icarus title theme and the Sky Palace music. I've always imagined there being two Kid Icarus levels; one that's the Underworld, with that awesome track from the game, and another that's the Sky Palace, with a remix of that music and the title theme

For the love of god, no Techno, please. I can't appreciate Techno music at all, it's so repetitive.

mariofreak91: Gangsta rap? Best era for mainstream rap. Yes please! :p BTW, nice to know that your first post is in this thread.

FlipTroopa (post #20): I only know about half of those songs and they're pretty good! Most notable are the Yoshi's Island ones and especially the Zelda ones.

Chibi: First, I haven't played Kid Icarus (I will next week), so I'm judging purely on how the songs sound.
The Sky Palace song is decent, but the underworld song is FREAKING great. That song sounds so epic, it makes me feel like there's a big adventure ahead of me. I hope it's in SSBB!

FlipTroopa (post #24): That's good news :)

As for songs I would like to see in SSBB?

http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/Punchout.mid
(although the guitarist is sloppy) http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00689/
http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/n64/m64crse1.mid
And possible the best ending song ever (for credits maybe): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/som_ending.mid

Fully orchestrated. Although maybe not the SoM ending, cause it'll make me cry, and my friends will call me queer and such.

WARNING: Wall of Text (should that be music?)

There are many tracks that I’d like to see, fully orchestrated of course. Golden Sun has perhaps some of the best and most epic. If Felix/ Isaac make an appearance I'd like to see the overworld for each of their starring games blend slowly into the battle music, similar to the Fire Emblem remix in Hyrule Temple.

Golden Sun Opening Theme: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gba/GS_Main_Theme_Extended.mid

Golden Sun Overworld Theme: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gba/golden_sun_overworld.mid

Golden Sun: The Lost Age Overworld Theme: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gba/DR_GS2_Overworld1.mid

Golden Sun: The Lost Age (The End is Near) Overworld: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gba/lost_age_overworld.mid

Isaac’s Battle Theme: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gba/golden_sun_-_battle_theme.mid

Felix’s Battle Theme: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gba/GoldenSun2_FelixBattleGMXG.mid

EDIT: Thanks to FlipTroopa who reminded me that Vgmusic does not allow direct offsite linking.

To solve this just click 'here' under: "1. You are attempting to access the file from a site other than Vgmusic.com". Or you could copy and paste the url into the browser. Sorry if this was obvious.

The final battle with Giygas from Earthbound would be great. In EB, it starts off as a typical SNES tune (doo doo de doo, doo do de doo, doo doo do de doo doo), but then enters what can only be described as what would happen if you crossed Techno with Heavy Metal and a bunch of other stuff.

Guys, for those of you linking off vgmusic: it doesn't work. They don't allow offsite linking, I don't think. Either that, or you both somehow screwed up the URL multiple times :p

Sakurai has stated on his website I believe, that all music in SSBB will be orchestrated with latin vocals. The details could be incorrect, not sure. I do remember him saying they've gotten a live orchestra and are planning to construct the entire soundtrack with it, along with famous opera vocals heard in the main theme on the trailer. That can be found on Sakurai's website as well.

Presumably not latin vocals for EVERYTHING, right? You can't exactly have people spouting off Latin while the Mario theme's blaring in the background, no matter how Italian Mario may be ;)

I want an Earthbound level to have a remix of the "Vs. Robo" theme or Vs. Starman music, mixed with the Kracken battle theme... but that's just wishful thinking...

DANG Earthbound has some great battle songs.

I always thought that Earthbound's battle songs were, at most, decent. I love the game, and it deserves the utmost respect among RPG's, but the battle music wasn't so memorable. Good thing in SSBM they had one of my favorite songs, Fourside. I'm hoping for Twoson, though.

Memory can't serve me well right now, but, does SSBM have an orchestrated Onett song? I know the Onett stage isn't Onett's original song... what's up with that?

The official Smash site says that the music will be recorded by a large orchestra with a choir singing in Latin for some parts, and opera singer Ken Nishikiori will be singing as well for some songs.

w00t.

Oh, look at that. Yojimbo beat me to this information. Ack.

And Troopa, Latin is not Italian. D:

Hell yeah, the Giygas fight theme was the best! Definately needed in this game!

They should add Genos Forest level for Geno, cause ya'know, he should be in here.

Giygas

Geno

Even though the Geno one doesnt sound like fighting music, neither did the alternate Onett one.
