What Modem works best with a Wii?

I recently decided to explore Brawl online, but I need a funtioning modem (the one i have will not sync with my wii) so I need to know what modem to get instead.

If it matters i have Windows Vista and plan on getting an Xbox (to which Live would be nice) so does anyone know what Modem would work well for my situation (please don't suggest an adapter, I want a straight-up modem)

Sorry but the network adapter works so much better with it. It's the truth
But the router my friend has is a netgear rangemax 802.11N.
It works as good as my adapter
But then again he has qwest fiber-optic 20mbps Internet. I'm stuck with comcast 6mbps

Is the network adaptar reliable? he only reason I didn't want one is I heard they only work every other time.
