What kind of DLC do you hope for?

Would love to have character and stage DLC along with some extra's like trophy, music, etc. Hopefully Sakurai plans to Release DLC like Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors in bundles.

First Party: Captain Toad, Ridley, King K Rool, Dixie Kong, Wolf, Krystal, Lucas, Masked Man, Bandana Dee, Toon Zelda, Impa, and Mewtwo
Second Party: Issac, Andy, Chibi-Robo, Lip, and Ray MK
Low Chance Third Party: Snake, Rayman, Bomberman, Lloyd Irving, Banjo Kazooie, Shantae, KOS-MOS, Black Mage, Sora, Crono
(Most of the Third parties are just a pipedream hopefully one day those third party chains will loosen up to invite these gaming icons in to the smash-fest)

Well, yes. The first FE dlc was free for a bit of time.

Well, the Hyrule Warriors DLC making Cia, Valga, and Wizro playable is free. Probably because they were planned to be playable, but had to be scrapped for whatever reason.
It's good that they didn't make them paid DLC.

However, I doubt they'll make new content and not sell it.

I would like to see more stages, i'm not picky long as they are well designed. Maybe even a "alpha stage mode" where it turns everything into battlefield (because FD isnt always the best).

I would also like to see some new and old characters, but most of the characters I want that aren't in the game are unrealistic possibilities or assist trophies already. So all I'm gonna say is I want , , and maybe even back.

The problem with new stages is everyone would need to buy them....so the chances to play the stage outside of single player will be shortened...especially for 3ds.

Yeah I do see your point but It still would be cool to see, I mean I prefer playing smash with people irl anyways.

That said they could implement something online like "if one of the people has the DLC maps you can play too" type of thing where you would have to download a compatibility pack. Though if this was to work it would probably be a "friends only" thing.

Oh for sure. As for dlc characters I'd assume they'd just patch the game so everyone can see and play against the new dlc characters.

I'm really wondering how would these DLC costs, and how many, would it be like character sets, alt costume sets?(seems pretty likely), or even stage sets, OR EVEN all of these combined for a premium set. Let's not forget if these would be rather frequent or just one-time.

That's exactly what I was wondering. I hope we can get official announcement from Nintendo on this. But if there is I want more competitively viable stages and characters. While I'm still happy with the game as is, it would be awesome if we could get even more!

What I'm saying, is this thread should be locked, until there's actual PROOF that DLC is a reality, for this game.

I'm not the biggest fan of character dlc in fighting games (although it is rather common), but some new alternates would be pretty neat. Nothing that I feel like either myself or others are really missing out on if we choose not to get it. That being said, I would likely buy any and all DLC characters and stages.

My idea is:

2 characters and 2 stages per pack
1 Veteran - Mewtwo, Lucas, Wolf, Ice Climbers, Roy, Young Link, Pichu ETC
1 Newcomer - Issac, Ridley, Reyn, Pokey Minch, King K Rool ETC
1 Past stage based on the veteran - Saffron City for Mewtwo
1 New stage based on the newcomer - Colony 9 for Reyn

Maybe 4 Packs total which would be 8 characters & 8 Stages

The price would be about $6.99 or $7.99 per pack and once they all release (which I would assume would be every 4-6 months) you could but them all bundled together for $19.99

In order what I want is:

1. More characters with unique move-sets (The rumored "missing four" are fine by me to start with)
2. Additional stages (likely makes sense to release with characters like MK8 is doing, new DK stage with Dixie would be just what the DK fans need to feel appreciated)
3. Alternate costumes (not palette swaps but actual costumes) preferably with character name changes in gameplay. Dry Bowser, Blood Falcon, etc. Even adding just a name change to an existing costume (Dark Samus for example) would be cool.
4. New custom moves that aren't just a riff on an existing move - would love to see some innovation to continue to make existing characters play differently (a bit disappointing more characters don't have actual move changes to be honest).
5. New items / Pokemon / ATs - Really is secondary to everything else but probably the easiest thing for them to add.

btw, my not-too-demanding dream list is:

characters: Mewtwo, Dixie Kong (semi-clone both of Diddy and DK), 2 other characters (I'm not interested in who, however perhaps they could be Masked Link (the masks are different combat style) or Impa, and a totally new character such as the notorius Chorus Men, or, preferably, Mach Rider. But if it's possible to have another 3d party char., I hope he is Rayman)

stages: 4, one for every characters, and at least 2 new

game modes: stage editor and, but not necessarly, another small mode

this list is for a possible 3ds dlc, and its contents should be in wii u version at launch

More alternate costumes for every character and that the CSS is filled up. For Isaac from Golden Sun to be a playable character with a stage and Assist Trophy. Seriously Sakurai you can't just take out an entire series like that.
