All of the characters who vanished between games, remastered and reworked (if they're clones).

The character roster is fine as-is. Nobody needs to be added to this glorious 48-man (and woman) cast.

I'm down for some balanced stages on the 3DS version as DLC though. And maybe a few free alts.

I know they aren't "needed" but the layout is weird to me... so I want a perfect box... that's my only reason for wanting more chars... literally my only reason.

Oh, I didn't mean it as an attack on you, silly pants. For me personally I feel like the roster is good to go is all. I'm just saying' that whether we get 'em or not I'll be satisfied with the game!

Need there be a better reason? A perfect box would look great on the top screen of the 3DS.

I hope for proof that actual DLC will be released at all, unless you know something that we don't.

Given Nintendo's recent boarding of the DLC train as well as their ability to handle it (really well) i believe DLC is almost a certainty. That being said... DLC? In smash? Never had that meal before and im hungry. So whatever is served is fine by me. :D

Honestly, I would rather have more stages than characters. Most likely because all of the characters I wanted got in except Magnus, but he was a long shot.

That's exactly what I was wondering. I hope we can get official announcement from Nintendo on this. But if there is I want more competitively viable stages and characters. While I'm still happy with the game as is, it would be awesome if we could get even more!

I'm actually less hyped about the possibility of DLC and more about the possibility of patches.

If only Sakurai would allow actual stages on For Glory besides Final Destination... Balancing patches would be pretty neat as well.

That said, as far as DLC is concerned I think packs with 2~3 characters and some stages are the most probable, kinda like Mario Kart -- though I'm not too hopeful that it'll happen.

Also, some dlc that fixes the CSS...put Dark Pit with Pit and Palutena...Dr. Mario with the Mario characters etc, bugs the hell outta me!

Adding clones is one thing, but dedicating a section to clones? now that's lazy.

To be honest?
Stages.
I love characters as much as the next guy, but unless you brought back Pokemon Trainer or a new type of Pokemon trainer I'm not gonna be very interested. I'd like some old stages back (Fountain of Dreams, Pokefloats) and maybe some brand new stages. Preferably some that pertain to the Newcomers like maybe a Duck Hunt Flat Zone or a new Megaman stage where Wily himself is the Stage Boss.

I really want the 3ds CSS to be completed. Besides that, new costumes would be nice, especially for characters that don't have alt costumes.

DLC ? Why characters of course. Wolf must be top priority if he's not playable via Wii U transfer. Then add in any other cut veterans and intended newcomers then make a couple all new newcomers for DLC like Sami ( That is unless she's planned already) Once you got characters then add stages items costumes and more smash run enemies ( like the monkeys from Starfox assault). Perfect plan for DLC.

Make Lucas an alt costume for Ness or a clone character, fill the CSS so it is a perfect rectangle (I'm kinda OCD), add in WAY more hats and outfits for the Mii Fighters (at least as many as in Streetpass Mii Plaza) and it's a long shot but make Magnus (Kid Icarus: Uprising) and Professor Layton playable. Oh, and bring back Wolf. Finally, give Charizard his shiny colours (black) as a palette swap.

All I ask for is for DLC to be done well. For me, it's not a question of "what do I want as DLC?", but if the DLC provided will be worthwhile. If we get a big DLC pack consisting of 2-3 characters (strongly preferring newcomers), 2-5 stages, items, music, etc. for $10-15, I'm all for it. But if characters are being sold individually for $5, that will absolutely infuriate me and would sour my relationship with Sakurai permanently.

Luckily, I don't see shady DLC practices happening. It'd be out of character for Nintendo or Sakurai to deliberately screw gamers over their money to get the "full game experience". So you could say that I am looking forward to whatever DLC they put out. And honestly, unless they put King K. Rool as a newcomer, I don't care who or what gets added.

Like most people here have already said, stages and alt costumes. I would gladly take DLC characters too, but the roster is already huge and really good. Plus, I'm sure in a few years development on the next Smash game will start, and it would make more sense for them to develop new characters for that game rather than adding a new character to the old games and new game at the same time. Sure I would love to see Ridley, Isaac, Mewtwo, Ice Climbers, Lucas, Wolf, and a Zelda newcomer added as DLC, but I don't expect it to happen and won't be upset if it doesn't

DLC costumes and especially stages are really likely imo, I'd love for Great Bay, Fountain of Dreams, Fourside, Onett, Temple, Luigi's Mansion, Big Blue, Pirate Ship, Frigate Orpheon, Bridge of Eldin, Delfino Plaza, Brinstar Depths, Kongo Jungle, Skyworld, and Poke Floats to be re-added as DLC, and maybe one or two brand new stages too

Roy!

Because gosh darnit, if they add such a clone as Lucina well that's just sad, especially with his redesign making him look so boss.
And Medusa cause, skrew D. Pit. I don't know anything about him. Except he's a great clone.

All of it. All of the DLC.
Characters, stages, alts, trophies, you name it.

Actually, what would really be cool is DLC Packs by series.
For example:

Donkey Kong series pack:
- Characters: King K. Rool, Dixie Kong
- Stages: A Tropical Freeze stage (Wii U), Kongo Jungle (3DS)
- Alts: Funky Kong (Donkey Kong)

Zelda series pack:
- Characters: Midna & Wolf Link
- Stages: Great Bay (3DS), Hyrule Castle N64 (3DS)
- Alts: Impa

Pokemon Pack:
- Characters: Mewtwo
- Stages: Poke Floats (3DS), Pokemon Colosseum (Wii U)

I think the mario kart 8 DLC formula would work very well for smash.
-2-3 New characters
-2 New Stages
-4 Retro Stages
Im just making up these numbers, something similar to that though. MAYBE even a new game mode? Nothing huge or fancy just something like classic break the targets, or like a challenge mode where you have certain handicaps against hard CPU's.

So lets give an example.
For this sake, call it the "Super Bash Sisters" Pack
-Dixie, Impa, and Captain Syrup
-Tropical Freeze stage (if there already isnt one) and SS Teacup or something
-Classic Stages: Peach Castle (Melee), Termina Bay (Melee), Hyrule Castle (64), and Kongo Jungle (64)
The whole thing would cost...say $10. Not bad at all! And if they release three or so, they could bundle them all for around $25.
I would totally buy this and support it.

Just an idea of what the basic formula would look like BTW not a concrete prediction.

The kind that has Isaac and Mewtwo as playable.

Seriously though Sakurai has said he liked how Fallout 3 dlc was done. (and those packs were pretty meaty) So I think I'd like similar packs that add to every aspect of the game:

New characters, stages, music, items, assists/pokemon, enemies, bosses, trophies to collect etc.

I'd pay for that.

Bandana Dee, Ridley, Isaac and a forth person.

That's all I ask for.

I don't mind if there are three requirements:

- Free or fair price (not $10 for Ridley, i.e.)
- Online is not broken (like they did with many FPS if you didn't buy some of the maps)
- They are not removed from the original game just to sell it sepparately

So, if they make DLCs with this in mind, I'll love it. For example, a $10 expansion pack with five new characters, their five stages (and soundtrack), with new challenges and maybe new event matches (or Tower Smash, whatever), I'll be fine.

Ice Climbers.....
I dunno, stages or something. Alt packs would be nice but I feel like a hypocrite cuz I would never buy costume packs for any other game (except Minecraft 360, but only the first three)

Considering Sakurai has gone on record saying he doesn't have a problem with dlc, I'd be shocked if he wasn't at least tempted to add characters they were working on but never finished in time.

Even then I still think dlc of some kind is almost inevitable. (I mean anyone who doesn't think dlc is a serious possibility needs to go to "How to make money 101" classes)

Nintendo may be virtuous but they're not THAT virtuous.

A new mode here or there that will help add to the single player life of the game would be fun. Stages and characters are a given and other than that I don't really see what else they can do with added DLC
