What is this new bull**** in MK Wii?

I was just playing MK Wii ( well, still am) and was playing balloon battle on Delfino Pier.

Something was completely wrong with that particular game: I couldn't POSSIBLY hit someone regardless if they stood still or were defenseless. There were four instances in which red shells just stayed around my opponents ( as in it went from behind them to in front of them) but did not connect with them, despite them not having any items. I also ran over three of my opponents with one large shroom and didn't get anything for that.

THEN I clearly ram a ******* camper with a mushroom and get nothing.

The latter two are things that I'm used to, but to have homing missles not ABLE to hit opponents regardless of conditions? That's bull**** hardware. i just lost 165 points because my teammates are low ranked, are terrible, and I could not do anything regardless of effort.

Anyone else experience this or have insight?

This totally pisses me off. I'm cheated all the time in MK Wii ( almost at a rate of once a day), but this is ridiculous.

It was lag, you really didn't hit them because by the time your Wii processed it they were gone.

The red shells didn't wear off until they reached their maximum duration. They just stayed around the players doing nothing to them. If it was lag, it likely would have hit them, just as I would with the large shroom, star, or mushrooms.

Something was up.
