See the main pages and how they have auto-moving advertisements? As well as have embedded hyperlinks and actual text-embedded hyperlinks?? What are they called? And do you know of any -specific- tutorials for those and what not?

I think it's flash.

I'm not a web developer, but I work with one. I can find out on Monday at worst. But until then, Buzz and Kiki might know. They both do web dev.

If I understand what you're getting at, those are news sliders:

We have one set up at Smash News too (http://smashboards.com/news). If you search you'll find at least one tutorial on putting a news slider together (I haven't looked through it, but I imagine it'll get you the basic functionality, at least.) If you're interested in getting the slider to interact directly with your page (and be controllable by regular links, for example), you'll want to look into ExternalInterface, which lets you interact with a Flash movie through JavaScript and vice versa.

Lol, yeah, I know it's flash; "What is this actionscript/Flash called? " . I was just looking for the specific name for this type of flash..but figured it out, its a flash banner
