I disagree completely. In my experience, people usually fail at edgeguarding you when you go to save somebody. I guess it's hard to focus on edgeguarding two people at once or something.
Also, PUFF IS NOT THAT BAD IN TEAMS. She gets a super-strong kill move/the best combo finisher in the game that is much harder to punish in teams if your partner isn't slacking. Her edgeguarding/gimping is pretty good, she is REALLY good at saving your partner, her utilt/fthrow setup for easy team combos. Her main issue in singles is approach, which teams solve since you can find more opportunities to approach in the chaos.
WTF @ Koro putting Ness and Puff below Link, LOL.
I totally agree. First of all, "saving" does not necessarily mean going offstage and assisting your partner in recovering (Puff pound). It can also (and usually) be about annoying your two opponents as much as possible in order to prevent them from edgeguarding your team mate. By doing that you make your opponents focus the attention on you and less on your partner. And this is how you "save" fragile characters like Falcon and Fox from being mediocre at teams. With proper team support, those two characters are
amazing.
Example: whenever I team with a german player called Mad-Fighter (fantastic at 1v2 but little to no teamplay) I lose my stocks a lot faster than when I play with players like Craiigg or Mahie (who are much more helpful team mates).
Puff is also another one of those characters that is easily good in teams if well assisted.
And whenever she does a rest, you don't ALWAYS need to jab her. From my experience teaming with Puff as Falcon. I usually find myself doing many different attacks to get her out of rest, such as jab/dair/dash attack/usmash/etc., depending entirely on the situation, where our opponents are, Puff's %. If you have time, jab is the best option, but sometimes you don't and you'll probably have to be more creative in that aspect.
