Link to original post: [drupal=3137]What happens when you lend GCN games to 9 year old sibling [/drupal]
Let’s start by taking our way back machine to a measly 12 months ago. At this point, my sis is just starting to get into games. Since nothing I have (please note the I have) for our wii quite suits her yet (she is 6 at that point). I out of the kindness of my bleeding ears set her up with a controller, memory card and the permission to barrow any game out of my two full GCN game carrying pouches. I felt that because the games would stay at home and in the living room that they would be perfectly safe.
Here I will mention some of the games that I have in those pouches: LoZ: Collectors edition, LoZ: WW, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime 1 and many others which I have idiotically forgotten the name of (about 17 games total a small collection in retrospect).
Continuing on with the story, a few weeks ago tragedy hit. I look to see where my pouches of GCN games are and I find nothing. I search around and turn up nothing. I ask my sis (at the time 7) and she knows nothing of where they have gone. Thankfully (sort of) my sister is really really bad at putting the disks into their nice, cozy and, safe...ish home in the pouch. In the end I am left with only 3 games when I heard that I thought **** day/week/period of time was ruined. Then I went to check what the games where.
They are Simpsons: Hit and Run (a bad game please don't ever play it), Animal Crossing (a very good game but not one that excites the gamer in me), and Super Smash Brothers Melee. At the first two my heart sunk; when I saw that last one I felt at peace with the world.
(Please note that I'm still bummed out that most of my GCN games are gone)
Thanks for reading and happy smashing.
*edited again to compensate for lax of grammar that occurs late at night*
