So? I believe in a man parting a sea. I also believe in a man turning water into wine. That could be considered just as likely as what Scientologists believe.

To use their theological beliefs as a reason that they are bad people (which they are) is a wrong reason, and a bad move. It's exactly what they want you to do, that way they can play the religion card.

Like I said on the first page, there are plenty of reasons to hate this corporation, don't pick the wrong ones.

Yeh. Kur made the same mistake that Anon is making...

Lol, you are making the wrong point to me buddy. If you want to know my opinion on the things you believe, check out my posts in the "How can anyone believe in god?" thread. Lets just say I don't think you christians are much better than the scientologists.

And scientologists don't have theological beliefs. It is a phony religion started by a sci-fi author who decided to turn one of his failed books into a religion just to see if anybody would fall for it. And besides all of that, I am not using their 'beliefs' as a reason to say they are bad. I am using their methods to say they are bad. They rely completely on outright lying, fear mongering, scare tactics, and hostility. They milk people for all the money they have over nothing.

Just watch the video I linked in my first post in this thread to see what I am talking about.

Except for the stares you get if you pass the collection basket along without putting anything in it.

Granted, you aren't required to donate anything, but it is highly expected and frowned upon if you don't.
I only give like once every one or two months, if that

and I never get any weird stares, people just don't care

if people at your church care about that, then it's probably not a very good one =\

Being an atheist I don't have a church. But I used to. I used to go to several churches in my youth and one thing that always stuck in my mind was the looks my mom got when she passed the basket by without putting money in. From that day on she skipped eating lunch on friday's so she could have $1.50 (this was in the late 80s) to put in the basket. And I saw the same thing in the churches I went to later, not towards my mother (she swore to never make that mistake again) but towards other people who didn't donate that day. It isn't the priests, reverends, or pastors that give the looks, it is the congregation.

Sure, it isn't required that you donate, but who wants to go somewhere every sunday and have to be looked at like you are less than trash? It is required if you want a pleasant sunday morning, lets put it that way.
