What’s up with all the gold skins in Smash Ultimate

Captain falcon has one but I couldn’t find a pic that was high resolution...

They're apart of the gold standard, obviously. Sm4sh's yellow team probably had something to do with Captain Falcon's gold color palette. To compensate for the Daisy palette, they probably thought that a gold dress, which is probably based off the Gold Flower item in New Super Mario Bros. 2, would look good enough. Dark Samus having gold would make sense rather than it just being a solid yellow. I'm not sure why Piranha Plant has a golden stem, other than that it's probably supposed to be yellow, but it just looks gold. I don't really know.

You know, looking at that Piranha Plant gives me an idea that that color scheme is based off of Geno...
The blue and gold is awfully similar (Although the blue seems to be lighter) and the brown matches his body. The green and the white parts of him are the only things that can debunk the idea (but maybe the white spots could go for the eyes? Likely stretching that though).

It could be a coincidence, but at the same time I can't think of where that alt would be referencing or if it's even referencing anything at all.
