And today, I discovered that with the Wii Remote sideways, pressing B on the stage selection screen allows you to access alternate stages (like if you were pressing L on the Gamecube controller). For some reason, no buttons with the Nunchuk has this function, even though 1 on the Nunchuk would be perfect for that.
Stage striking is also possible with Wii Remote sideways (or Nunchuk). Both comtrollers use the minus button to strike one stage. Pressing A on the Wii Remote (or Z on the Nunchuk) retores all stages to their default settings.
