When did we first know about Dedede?

I noticed on this update called "Names" on the dojo, it shows King Dedede in a picture, take a look. *clicky*

However, I don't remember the picture of Dedede in a corner. It's odd, I usually notice that stuff. Did they add it in??? Because Dedede wasn't announced until the October 25th update, yet this Names update was posted on June 28th...

That's confusing me.

Hm, I guess the picture of him in the Names update was updated along with the Dedede update then.
