We should have new character portraits.

Now that Project: M has gotten so huge now. I believe that the character icons/portraits should be different so it is even more different than Brawl. We can solve this is a few different ways.

1. Use the Sprites from this art. I remember somewhere the guy who made this posted each of the sprites individually with different color pallets. However the big problem is that there is no MewTwo or Roy from what i've seen. Another thing is that all of the links are broken or lead to malware, so I'm not sure how to get the separate sprites.

2. Just make different poses with the existing models, this way you don't even need to change MewTwo's or Roy's since they are new.

What do you think?

1. There's already a CSS made with those sprites out there.

2. SJS, Moblin and a few others already do this.

The PMBR won't change the CSS/Portraits, they leave that up to us to customize our build as we please.

Why? They were good.
Either way, that seems like something that should be up to the player's discretion to toggle with. Personally, I'm happy with the way things are in that regard.

I like those sprites. I'd like for this change to be included in an official build.

What Brawl did was just lazy...they use the exact same render for the roster and the selected character image (as opposed to Melee and 64).

It would be beyond amazing if somehow they were able to have the 3D models in their idle poses like for Smash 64, but I doubt that'd be possible.

I use SJS's portraits. That's absolute perfection right there.

The poses on the character select screen like in 64 would be epic.

If the PMBR brings this back, the first thing I'll do is assign all four players to fox (or any character that makes a noise), go to the stage select screen, then back to the CSS to hear them go "HEH" all at once.

It kind of sounds cool, I guess.
