Waveshining direction

For some reason when I waveshine with Fox, If I start backwards, Fox will always turn around to face my opponent. Does this happen because I'm not doing it fast enough?

the same thing happens with me. it happens because you are tilting backwards and diagonal down before you jump, so try jumping then putting the direction on the analog. hope that helped

You have to wavedash before you turn around =(
