So I guess I'm new here...although I'm no stranger to smash itself.
After 6 months of not playing melee I finally gave up the mediocre 3rd smash and went back to melee

I dabbled with AT's before but never had the time to properly learn them...
After almost a week of nonstop melee ... I learned the essentials BUT one thats important (at least i think) to falco

WaveShine

I should mention that I have gotten a good feel for WDing and L-Cancel but i can't waveshine.

Any other things i should know would be appreciated very much, thanks

Just practice it against a lvl1 cpu or in trainingsmode.

And don't forget that the timing is a bit different when you hit someone

yeah i'd do most of my training against a non-controlled human opponent, so i could use the c-stick without interruption (comp's attacking you, no c-stick in training mode).

its what most people say and it does work

But i think im doin something irregular,
I WD then I shine and try to jump canel the shine but after I press R to WD again
I just short hop... no momentum so what im doin is

WD to shine then as i try to WD again.. i just short hop

You're most likely doing it too fast.

I suggest using L for most of your L cancel/WD because it gives your thumb some space to work without having to worry about your index finger. Just take it slow, try and slow yourself down. Also, I suggest going from B->X while sliding over A in the middle since A doesn't do anything in the middle of a shine(If you're not already doing it)
