Do you have any idea how fast Sonic is in a full-speed run? I'm pretty sure he's just dashing that second before he spins, as a matter of fact, I think that attack is his dashing attack.

And come on, you know wavedashers. If wavedashing was in the game, he'd be spamming it back and forth to show off, not just using it once and being done with it.

Nah. Sonic just runs really fast, which, together with the fact that the camera is far away from the screen, creates what seems to be a wavedash.

So you're just seeing stuff.

Maybe, it just resembles a wavedash very strikingly....

and i think this was at the conference so they might not be trying to spam it back and forth, and they might not realize they did it, it just looked EXACTLY like a WD, that's all im saying

i dont know guys. it doesnt look like a dash. he is sliding. you can tell cuz at the end he kinda drifts like a wavedash. the argument about "oh, they would have been spamming it" is irrelevent because whoever would have done this would have done it by accident and not even known what they just did. well like i said in other posts in brawl discussion, just wait for e for all and when real smashers play the game we'll find out if you can wavedash or not...peace

From the looks of it, Sonic has low traction. When he runs and stops he still slides for a bit afterwards. It's just how he's designed. So the "drifting" as you called it is just what happens when he stops running.
