Water projectiles and FLUDD crashing on me

This is a weird one.

I'm running NTSC brawl- on a PAL wii/TV (force PAL 50). For some reason, whenever a CPU in a mode other than Vs. uses either squirtle's Water Gun or mario's FLUDD, it just outright crashes. This is a brand new disk, too. I thought it might be my codes, so I went and turned them off to finally beat that ****ing event 41 (impossible when the game freezes whenever mario uses Fludd)... and it kept on freezing! What the hell? It's freezing without any codes or file replacements. To add to my confusion, it doesn't freeze when I use FLUDD or water gun, but sometimes when the AI in VS uses it, it freezes... what the hell is going on here guys?

Stuff has been acting weird like this to me... Well, Snake's up B freezes the game, along with selecting Olimar. When Captain Falcon punches the game crashes.

Well, I believe there is a solution.

I think the only way to fix this retardedness is to delete your game save after making a hard copy of it. I haven't tried this yet, but I have heard this what fixes random freezes.

Why do I think this works? Everytime you Brawl, records are recorded. This means combos, moves used, and KOs are recorded. Well, let's say we replaced out favorate character Meta Knight with project Gray Fox. Those old Meta Knight records will still stay and will not match your new character, causes random freezes. This is the same with stages; when they change things like this happen. Textures may be the same too.
Even if you take off codes, those screwed up records will stay.

For reasons of Mario's fludd freezing is probably what I mentioned above, or maybe it's somthing different. Maybe a new clean game save...?

My suggestion is to make a hard copy after deleting your game save. If this does not work, I dunno, maybe getting a new version of the Homebrew program you use.

That would not cause the game to crash.

As for this, it's probably a NTSC emulation error of sorts..
