Was the Icon theory correct?

You all know (hopefully) the icon theory for all the characters that led people to believe that sonic and pikmin were going to be in brawl. So did it turn out correct with people like R.O.B.?

Well, it was correct and incorrect.

In regards to proving characters, it was incorrect, as there is no Animal Crossing or DS character.

In regards to proving franchises, I suppose so. It proved Mr. Game & Watch and at least one other franchise (Gyromite/Robot).

Yes, it was always correct. The reason people bash it is because people don't understand that the ALPHABETICAL THING WAS NOT PART OF THE ICON THEORY. Somebody just speculated that and it was proved wring over and over. The REAL Icon Theory is that the order of the icons are

1. Smash Bros.
2-11. Series introduced in SSB64
12-14. Series introduced in Melee.
15+ Series introduced in Brawl.

The Alphabetical theory was NOT part of the true icon theory. Everybody here just assumes that because they don't take the time to read it themselves.

It was never to prove character inclusion, as two franchises were used solely because they had stages, but it did give a hint.

I don't think Electroplankton has its own icon. It's music is even grouped with PictoChat's.

Icon 13 is almost certainly G&W's since it is place with the Melee icons. Icon 19 is unknown. We'll see when either Electroplankton or ROB is shown.

Nah, it was different, I dont remember what it was, but it was odd looking.

The icon theory predicted the return of G&W thus it was correct.

It's hard to explain. It did lead to me thinking that Olimar was going to be in Brawl, though he wound up at a different icon number than expected (which leads me to think he was added later in development).

Early on in the icon theory days it did allow me to be completely confident that characters like Marth, Ness, Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch would be returning, though. So I guess it sort of succeeded.

What's completely dumb is that PictoChat and Electroplankton each get unique icons, which seems like a waste. Just imagine the speculation if we had seen the Electroplankton stage (and icon) earlier in the life of the Dojo, though.
