Was Sheik's needle glitch fixed?

The other day I was playing the 3DS version of Smash 4 with Sheik on Final Destination. I was practicing using her needles when suddenly, I saw them in her hands. I spotted them against the white background of the star exploding. They went away with needle storm. I searched it up on YouTube and found that it could be done on Melee.

I've been trying to do it on the Wii U version but I just can't pull it off. Can anybody see if it can be done?

The most that I've seen is that she keeps her needles in her hand until she returns to her neutral stance, and then they disappear. It could be possible, but I can't get it.
