At very least it's not the actual attack that connected with him.
When the bike explodes, it does 6% damage to Wario if he's within its blast radius. Though sometimes it's weird and hits him even when he's nowhere near it like in the posted video.

This is so weird lol. A lot of the time when my opponent hits the bike and it blows up, they're the only ones that get hurt. What an odd glitch.
