Warcraft 3 vista help

Sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place.

Basicly this computer ran warcraft 3 fine before i changed to vista. now it comes up with this error message... *unable to read directX 8.1*

Since warcraft worked fine before the change, logically the only source of the problem could be vista. correct me if i'm wrong.

does anyone here have any similar experiences, and if so is there any chance someone could point me in the right direction as to how to fix this?

What hardware are you using?

You might have DX10 installed, I think that could be giving you the grief.
