Wanna start a Sacramento, El Dorado, Folsom, etc. tournaments

Hey I live in El Dorado Hills, near Folsom and Sacramento.
I was thinking we should start holding tournaments around these areas or something.
So any one got any ideas like where, when, and who.

Brawl or melee? Judging from you sig I'd say brawl. Tag and Ender's Game are two brawl tourneys in Sac. I haven't heard anything about them recently they may resume after the summer break. There's a guy in Davis who does brawl as well. As for melee, there used to be one in Yuba City but I don't know about that anymore. Davis will resume melee tournaments in the Fall once I go back to school.

TAG and ender's have been going on monthly. There was even a TAG tournament last Saturday, and ender's is coming up on the 23rd. I guess they've just been advertised on All is Brawl.

You certainly did. They stopped for the summer break but I plan on doing them again when I go back to school. Everyone should come and money match Pink Shinobi.

Axis Gaming will be hosting a big event (1st Place = $2,000) in Emeryville on August 30th at Ex'pression college for digital arts, not too far from you guys.

People will be coming from all over and it would be a great way to meet a lot of players/TO's and maybe get some collaboration going towards starting up tournaments in your area!

I'm going to try to make it to that
the only problem is I'm only 16 and my parents don't want me driving an hour and 50min
because of gas

Amtrak will take you into Emeryville. I don't know how you'd get to the venue from there. Walk maybe. Of course an amtrak ticket probably costs more round trip than you'd pay in gas, but save the planet right?

moneymatches in melee? >_< Of course I'm outta state, and it seems that everyone plays brawl. The tier system is worse in that game. MK, Snake, Marth, garrrr!

Not any better than seeing Fox/Falco comprise about 90% of the Melee metagame now to be honest ;[

Ender does a great job with his tournies (Enders Games) and they are always a lot of fun, you should check it out socan. In fact there's one this Saturday... you should swing by if you haven't been before!
