Here's the thing, my bro uses Falco and I use fox. What he does is dodges until I try a smash attack and then hits me. Or dodges until he gets in a good possy then hits me. How do I hit him if his dodging constantly?
Don't get me wrong, he doesn't always dodge. Just when I get too close for comfort, he'll dodge to gain the upper hand, or more commonly dodge to get an even more upper hand :).
So yeh, how do I hit him?
He'll mainly do L+R side dodges but will also jump and stuff.

basically, just wait for him to spotdodge and then grab/smash him out of it. if he rolls follow where he rolls and do the same. if he jumps, just sheildgrab him (he will probably come down with a dair). if he just runs away, then laser him.

My brother plays Falco as his main, and I practice with him for like, an hour a day at least, so I have PLENTY of practice against Falcos.
So wait. You and your brother don't use advanced techniques really? Well, if that's the case, Falco isn't that much of a problem. Wait for an upsmash by him, wavedash back, then run in with a JC grab > uthrow > uair. If that doesn't send him high enough, hit him with a bair on his way down to knock him off the stage.

Here's a heads-up. Learn all the Advanced Techniques before he does. Read the stickies and CunningKitsune's guide. They are insanely helpful references and guides.

Thanks, I printed off a few of the basic stuff but I can hardly tell when I've L-Cancelled, the only one I can do and tell when I've done it is Drill kick, L-Cancel, Shine...cuz it has how many hits I've done. With the other ones, I can't hit them and so I can't tell with the cumulative hits. How did you learn them? (Like Training with Jump or Lvl 1's?)
Edit- And I've tried WaveDashing but failed, decided I should stick with the real basics first.

Well, wavedashing is a key move that you have to learn. It helps with spacing so much. Once you get the hang of it, your hands do it without you even thinking. You'll be able to tell when you've L-canceled when you can jump or shine right after an aerial.

A good approach against Falco is shffl'd dair > waveshine > jab > usmash, which is Thunder's Combo. Since Falco falls from the shine, you use the jab to get him back on his feet, and then upsmash for the kill at high percents. (Once you can waveshine, use this)

Another thing to watch out for against Falco is his SHLs. If your brother can't do those, you're in luck. Learn how to SHL and RSHL, and use those to your advantage by making him come after you with a reckless, unplanned offense, which is usually a fsmash or an Illusion. =P

If you need help learning how to SHL or wavedash, feel free to ask me. I remember how hard they were when I was learning. X_X

Edit: I practiced all this stuff with my brother, who mains Falco. Don't play with computers unless you have to. They suck. =/

Thanks, but I wanna practise them/master them without him knowing that way I can suprise him with my instant mastery of fox xD...
Oh and shorthopping with fox is hard :/ I should probably go play a bit while his gone. Thanks
Edit- I don't think I'll be waveshining for a while- and then it'll be a while after that before I could use any of it in a battle...

Wait. Before you go and practice, I have some hints on shorthopping. It took me like, 2 days to finally figure out how to do it every time and still be able to do my aerials. I kind of hit the button with my fingernail, and then hop my finger over to A for the nair, or the C-Stick if it's a dair/bair/uair. When you SHL though, you can't hop your finger to B, you need to slide it quickly across, being sure to not hit the A button.

And since you have to practice without your brother knowing, practice on like, level 7 computers on Final Destination.

Thanks but I bite my nails...pretty badly, I'll just use my finger tips xD. What happens is a can usually get it when I'm standing still- like maybe 8/10 times, but when I'm running I can hardly get it at all, like maybe 1/20 or so...

The reason you can't do it when you're running is because you're keeping the control stick in the direction you're running. You have to flick it back to neutral. =)
