vs Zamus?

I recently fought someone using her and boy did and get my *** handed to me the first match, but managed to beat her the 2nd match.

So far the best thing I got is shield drop nades to stop her from running around so much, and go prone and dtilt often...it's what snagged me the win...because her strong, quick killer moves (side b and fsmash) seem to have weird properties that have outrageous horizontal distance but somehow miss Snake most of the time when he's prone. Nonetheless, Zamus is quite speedy and her stun combos are a huge pain, especially to slow chars like Snake.

So yea..has anyone faced a good Zamus before...and if so how did you deal with her?

edit: I was just testing her out...and now I see where melee Samus's bair went...lol. Cept that it just got twice as fast >.<. Also she has really good juggles....

I suppose if anyone ever wants to discuss vs Zamus I guess we could do it here.

the game just came out so there aren't alot of good Zamus players yet.

I bet it is like what I am like the opposite person you expected lol. I really should be here to respond since I am Zamus main lol. But I noticed I am actually getting decent with Snake. He may jump to one of my mains.

Against her. Well she doesn't have alot of priority so you can take advantage of that but the truth is that not many has faced a good Zamus so not many really knows. I've only seen a few on youtube.

Initiate **** attack on her.

But seriously, do what Snake does best and limit options. I'm guessing you cant duck the Fsmash/Forward B so try doing a fastfalled BAir to surprise the player then use that chance to make sure she cant try it again. She's fairly light weight so if you get in a well placed UTilt or Uair you can kill her easy, but if those problems still persist try practicing rolling or spot dodging to prevent getting hit.

That's all I got though, I've only fought her via AI since everyone around me plays Diddy/Lucario/TL

Surprise buttsecks to chaingrab until she's at good percentages, then throw her off the ledge and fair spike. Or, if you aren't me and don't feel the obsessive-compulsive need to fair everyone who isn't on the ground, get a Nikita in between her and the ledge. Be careful, her vB can catch you off guard. But if she's too far away from the edge to do a vB, then hit her with the missile anyways.

I play against Zamus all the time seeing as my roommate mains her, so here we go:

Don't use aerials except as an edgeguard and still watch out because pretty much all of Zamus' moves will have priority over yours in the air, ground is a different story.

Figure out the spacing on Zamus' side b so you know when she is going to use it, this is her goto KO move.

When you get hit into the air just air dodge as much as possible until you hit the ground or you will be combo'ed like mad by her up b, up smash, and up air.

As with most characters try to control her movement by using grenades.

A good way to gimp kill Zamus is by hanging on the ledge to stop her tether recovery. If you do this she will probably start using her down b to recover, so when she uses it, jump up and bair her, you might get hit as well, but she can only use her down b ONCE in the air, so this will leave her wide open to being gimped by edgehogging.

Punish missed grabs with a nice f-tilt combo / C4 stick / another move of your choice, f-smash usually doesn't work.

awesome thanks! I was playing a Zamus today and just realized her grab lag is huge. She just waves the whip around for like 2 seconds lol.
