So I have this friend and he uses Fox, obviously. He spams his blaster, but I have a way to get out of that. (Sometimes I can't release PSI mag early enough though...)

But the real problem is that he spams his freaking up smashes. Everywhere on the stage. Sliding up smash. I dodge and shield, but then he grabs. I think I'd need a video to explain better, but I don't have an SD card yet.

So basically, this is the start of the match.
Blaster spam. counter with PSI mag. He dashes with his up smash. If I block, he grabs.
If I try and get him from above, he just jumps and arials me, or another up smash.
Usually, my approach is to wait for him to finish that first up smash and get some distance to spam PK fire, but every time I get away, he takes out the lazer an it just starts all over again.

If I try PKT2, he blocks and grabs. Sometimes he falls for it. If I try 1 (usually with him in the air) he dodges, reflects, or (rarely) falls for it. I never PK freeze. And almost all of Lucas' arials are physical... So the up smash just kills me. And if he's not USmashing, he's either grabbing or blastering me.

On the edge, he's always downsmashing u__u I can get around that, but it's still annoying. He does this with every character I use...
So seriously, what the heck am I supposed to do?

Directly above you tipping a dair.
Spam pkfire. That'll make him stop. If you hit with pkfire, go for pk freeze since its easy to land that way. You don't have to block the lazer (only 1% damage at a time). If you get the timing down, you can hit him with the PSI magnet to push him back when he approaches you. Block the upsmash and grab him. Do short hop nair and full hop dair to approach. Follow up with the jab combo. You can trick fox by whipping out pk thunder and moving it towards him to hit him. After touching him (or not), curve it backwards and hit him with PKT2.

I do the PKF spam and the PSI mag release (I only hit like 30% of the time. All the other times, he either USmashes, dash attacks, or grabs.. DX). I grab him after he Usmashes, Usually I throw him to the right or down, so yeah, that works... But he always expects my Nairs and Dairs. I usually get some kind of smash in the face... again u___u. *sigh* I'll keep trying with that though. I do the PKT2 trick too, but it's usually not on purpose.
I know what I have to do now... It's just a matter of doing it... He's so predictable, but I keep falling into his traps. So I guess for me, it's pretty much "Mind game him or you're screwed."

This is what the situation is, according to my interpretation of your posts: Fox repeatedly fires his gun and you absorb the shots, but then he suddenly dashes towards you and attacks? Why not just immediately release your PSI Magnet as the last shot is fired, and then shoot a PK Fire? It's not easy to avoid, and even harder to run past. A Short-Hopped PK Fire would also do.

I tried that and sometimes it works, but he's too fast... Bah. I'll keep doing that though. Sometimes I can't release PSI Mag fast enough though.

When you say "can't release PSI Magnet fast enough" do you mean you're trying to hit him with it or it doesn't go away fast enough? Because if he's steady firing (as opposed to spacing out his shots) you don't have to hold the buttons. If he's spacing, then just try to intercept the beginning of each round. If he's spacing enough that he shoots as slow as Falco, well, you wouldn't have a problem with his laser at all if he was.

It was my sister's 16th today. We had a mini-tourney and I lost to him again : / Geez. Anyway.

@Metal: I mean that it doesn't go away fast enough. Sometimes I get lucky and it does, but I don't try it anymore. Now I just drop it when he first runs and I shield through all the attacks.
@Levi: I'll try that. I'll try anything anyone suggests.
@Shibby: Ha. That actually is good advice. Thanks, I'll make sure to do that.

Thanks you guys :3
